So long as it's accessible

I found this:

but I also found this

tf2ware ultimate is the most recent and imo the best version of the gamemode(which i believe anyone who plays the gamemode would agree with).
if an active tf2ware server would be added to panda i would definitely play it over other server options.
A consideration also to think about would be the player count for the server, because tf2ware ultimate allows for a comfortable 30-64 player count without the game just being pure chaos.
if this is able to happen im all for it

TF2ware Ultimate is the only version worth running, as it's a direct upgrade of the original TF2ware with extra, more in-depth minigames and gameplay due to its use of vscript. That being said, TF2ware ultimate can start to struggle and crash if there are 25+ people on at the same time (most TF2ware servers try to solve this by limiting cosmetic usage in order to lower the edict count.) As an avid TF2ware player I'm all for adding this into the gamemode pool, although it might turn out the same way panda casual did (gulpppp).

As someone who has hosted TF2Ware for Panda's Jailbreak Community, the interest is most certainly there.

Player count usually topped out around 12ish or so players, but this is just from the Jailbreak part of the community.
Opening up the player pool to Panda as a whole, would certainly yield higher peak player counts.
For a general max, I'd say 32 players at the most. Potentially 24 if performance issues occur.

The github for the entire project is here; https://github.com/ficool2/TF2Ware_Ultimate/tree/main
And the most recent update they have posted is here; https://github.com/ficool2/TF2Ware_Ultimate/releases/tag/1.3.1

As someone who had next to zero RCON knowledge prior to doing the map, it took a bit, but even I eventually figured it out.
It's all VScript so if you have what you need installed, it'll just work on map start-up.
Something something have source mod installed something something, they have instructions to follow on the github.

Mod/Map performance was good with no notable stuttering or frame loss.
Workload seemed extremely light overall in the RCON console.
Only errors I saw were introduced when switching from Tf2Ware to Casual and then back to TF2Ware without a server restart.

I think that's most of the pragmatics out of the way.
Overall opinion? I'd say Do It if we can get a stable server for it. It'll only be fun and populated if it works.
Just as we wanted (and still want) Panda Casual, TF2Ware would be an amazing addition to have given the server functions.
My take would be fix up the Casual Server first, and then embark on TF2Ware.

And hey I'm right here.... if you need to ask about the mod... or promoting me to green.... you know where to find me I guess......

Do It,
I think it would get a lot of traction from current panda players and hopefully it'll get us some new players too!
But like Pistol said, Casual could use some tweaks.
Also yeah wouldnt there need to be some mod hiring or promoting if this does go through for the server?
But overall i think this is a great idea :bbtcat: 👍

I will be real with you. This is ONLY gonna work IF
  • There is enough interest for all players (Not just panda jailbreak players)
  • Kevin releases the server within a month of this suggestion (To prevent hype from dying down)
  • Server is maintained by either Madact or Stabbin (I.e resolving bug fixes, updating plugins, addings maps, etc)
Not too concerned with the third one since Madact and Stabbin is working actively hard on the jailbreak suggestions and map updates. Just more of the 2 listed above. The reason why I say this is because we had suggestions like these in the past that all immediately flopped within a month. I'll give some examples here.

US JB 2 by Bambi

It basically ended up being used as a plugin test server similar to EUJB. There was interest and Semi made a really cool suggestion where its different from the main jb server. I forgot when it was completed but I do remember it being dead within a few days or so and the only people who actually played it where those who are waiting for USJB 1 to have an open slot just like Semi predicted.

Panda Casual by Savador & Calassic

This was the one I was actually hyped about and a lot of people outside jailbreak. Its just that it took WAY too long for it to be completed. By the time the server was up, majority of the serverbase was jailbreak players. All of the other players outside of jailbreak pretty much left. I can't say what contributed to their leave but I suspect its most likely due to the lack of updates to their respective server. You could also argue that the crackdown on bot hosters was also a reason the server died.

Yes there is technically a L4D2 server but no one else besides me, Bambi, Semi, and Kevin played it and Bambi asked for it for the sillies . Plus I don't think this suggestion is passing anytime soon.

I really want this to succeed. I don't want to see another server end up in the graveyard alongside the other server. I will be surprised if this server manages to have the same levels of activity as USJB but only time will tell.

I've added a poll. It's most likely going to be all yes's, as there's no harm in adding the gamemode to the server list. It won't stress anything, won't change any of the current gamemodes up.
What TRGGB2 said though is most likely going to happen. Expectations should remain low. But who knows oooOOOooo

At most this will be played for like a day and everyone will forgot about it. cough cough panda casual
If it isnt gonna strain the servers, then sure, add it. It'll definately be helpful for funpings and if other people want to play tf2ware
