I don't judge the person himself, really, I still know kids on Steam who are sometimes more mature than teens.
But the problem is only the voice, that can't be changed (what I suggested is a sort of age limit, since we admins can only judge voice in server, not the exact age that we can't know).
And, voice of kids can really get annoying for teens'ears.
For kid voice, I mean those voices who are still not mature, and indeed what you hear is something
between a girl voice and a male voic
e.
There CAN be 12/13 years-old guys who have a mature voice, so the mute is not related to the age, but only to the voice itself.

I see what you did there but still what's the person's fault if he's having a soft sound? that's not fair towards him being muted for something he didn't choose to have.

Being muted (for 6 months/1 year) is not something so bad, if you are free to play (unfortunately, not as a guard in Jailbreak) and write and so on.
Ye, it's not his fault, but I already wrote it:
This Game should already have an age limit, but most of kids don't respect it. It's like porn videos on Internet or films on TV, you know ;)
... and, more, we have to say that there are people with mature voice who don't know English, and so they speak different languages in voice chat (even not screaming, calmly, politely) in our servers. But that's not allowed. It's not their fault if they have not studied well English. So?

I usually get labeled the kid and end up getting vote muted /admin muted when I'm a 21 year old female.
So long as the admins don't end up just muting every 'young' voice they hear then it's fine. 6 months is a very long time, the correct judgement should be used when applying something as big as that.

After 10 days, the score is 21 in favour to 19 against. If nothing changes soon, this rule will be implemented.

Unless the voice is followed by typical young'ish kid behaviour in the voice chat then it's fine as is.

22 vs 20
The vote is in favour of muting globally kid voices (I explained the standards for the voice).
Anyway, this new rule should be a try. If it works well, Ok. If it will cause problems (I really doubt), we will re-vote to remove it.

After getting ear-raped for about 45 minutes today I really hope this rule will be implemented. :)

Only slightly, I was just saying it seems a tad excessive to mute everyone just because they have a high pitch voice or sound young. It's the behaviour and attitude that annoys me with kids on the mic. Not the voice itself.

Well, this is the point of this poll: who prefers the global mute (not loving kids with a high pitch voice), and who doesn't.
In my opinion it's not excessive to mute little kids for 6 months - 1 year (time to make their voice a big stronger), but that's why we are voting here.

That makes sense, I guess that would be a good idea for the server, especially Jailbreak as you said. I just don't see how they would take it as a good thing, they will probably whine and complain but that's kids for ya.

The idea is
Letting only guys with a mature voice to use mic.
Are you saying ladies (at whatever age restriction you deem) shouldn't be allowed to use voice chat, as well?

Of course not, also I doubt that mature girls/women will get any problems since people won't get annoyed by them and if nobody is annoyed there is no reason to mute somebody.

Nonono dude, that's not what this rule is about. This rule is about muting anybody who sounds young, indiscriminately. If they scream or have a bad mic, they can already be muted under the current rules. This rule makes it so that any young person will be muted, regardless of screaming, being annoying in any way or having a good mic. Doesn't matter if nobody is annoyed, if they're young they will be muted.

It's at the admins discretion what sounds "young" though. One of them finds your voice bad but nobody else does? Boom, muted. You helping out your team and being a good player? Boom, muted, fuck you.

I really like how it looks. "Young people = mute, we're tired of those bastards."

I think I might have to reconsider my vote then... Since I don't think it's right to instantly mute anybody without really having a reason, I mean where's the point in muting someone who's not annoying anybody? Also there could be a problem regarding females. Tf2 really messes up the sound quality, every source game does that. I thought more about people getting muted that keep talking in a high pitched voice without really spamming but annoying everybody.

I think a lot of people who vote yes thought the same thing as you. This is incorrect. In that case we need to say that we become stricter with arguably annoying young voices and consider them disruptive more easily than we used to. That is not how this is phrased here; this is about muting all young voices, invariably.

You helping out your team and being a good player? Boom, muted, fuck you.
If you play pubs that seriously you deserve to be muted :)

On an unrelated note: Atm panda doesn't even have servers where team play would be needed to complete the objective.

I just voted against, if you get annoyed by some1 voice just mute him or her, simple.

Edit: kid speeks irl now1 no1 cares, kid speaks ingame every1 goes "fuck you stupid kid" and shit like that
I think there is a mentality in fps gaming that if your voice is high pitched your automaticly a squeeker, it feels like some people aren't really annoyed by the kids voices they just have this gaming mentality that kids shouldn't play fps games all kids are noobs and stuff like that. squeekers, voicespammers, and horrible mic kids should ofc be muted, but higher aged squeeker, voicespammers and horrible mics should also get muted.
As I said earlier if a kid a kids voice really makes your ear bleed then mute them yourself, their right to speak in voicechat shouldn't be stopped just because you get annoyed.

That's my opinion
