I updated vsh_arcticbase with mostly some quality-of-life improvements. Please don't hesitate to give me feedback on this.

  • Updated door triggers so now they will open every time, instead of sometimes getting stuck
  • BLU spawn door will now after just a few seconds instead of 20
  • Made the windows on spawn buildings non-solid
  • Added a platform in this area so it's easier to get in. Also removed the fake wall (on RED's side of the map as well).
  • Updated visuals a bit (tweaked lighting, added fog)
  • Updated some models
  • Made several perfomance optimizations

I noticed some people are not happy with some of my edits but they won't tell me why. I'll keep the poll up for 2 weeks which I hope will give people enough time to give feedback (assuming they want to).

There's a bug i experienced once as GentleSpy.I teleported to an engineer who was in the vents and teleported outside of the map.So mayhaps we could check this out.

Okay so we tested this on GentleSpy and it still happens, easiest way to fix this is to edit the configs of teleporting bosses so that they can't teleport above players. Apparently this will be fixed in the next FF2 update so I don't need to make any major changes to the map :)



Also updated the map a bit (download link stays the same!)
  • Increased door activation distance
  • Fixed some visual issues

Looks like the vote leans in favor of this suggestion. Added to task #249 VSH / FF2 - Add / Remove maps.
