So me and other regulars from the ff2 #13 server have discussed and came to the conclusion that some maps need to be removed, either because they give a huge advantage to the RED team by being very large (Basically Sniperspam) or by having large pits where they are pushed and the hale loses tons of health. On the other side, maps that have little to no health packs for the RED team give an advantage to the hale (since classes like soldier need constant health). Lastly, big maps have the tendency to have rounds which last from 5 to even 10 minutes, which is obviously very long and makes the game boring. We decided that the following maps need to be removed because of the problems mentioned above:


-Arena_Nucleus

-arena_watchtower_fix2e (also has the water and the instant death with the moon...)

-vsh_aquaticbase_b5 (Engies with teleporters are just imposible to kill as hale)

-vsh_arcticbase_b3

-vsh_bianco_hills_b6 (Uhm yeah this map is too big)

-vsh_crevice_b5 (I am aware that a lot of people enjoy this map, but rounds there last a lot and hales with normal superjump are vurnerable)

-vsh_dustshowdown_panda (Imagine being hale and you fight against 7-9 Snipers. I don't even want to think about that)

-vsh_volcanic_b2 (Being airblasted from pyros or in generall knockback and falling into the pit.....)

-vsh_weaponsdepot_final (there is no need to have two versions of a map...)

-vsh_zelda_ww_outset_island (also too big and there is an exploit where you can place the teleportes inside the houses, so that non-teleporting hales can't reach you)

And lastly vsh_dr_yaybread (it's literally a deathrun map...)

It would be nice if other ff2 players would respond, whether they agree/disagree or have other suggestions. Thanks for reading (In case it's too many maps being removed, we also came up with new maps that can replace these).
 
Oh i have a Record of me playing as jack on dustshowdown mmmm 5-6 dots aiming at the door waiting for me to come out x)
Anyways i agree on this Suggestion, there are much more maps i find retarded and shouldnt be in FF2 in general
In my opinion i dont rly care if the Map is big as long the Hale has a very good Super Jump which only like 3 Hales do here sadly... Handsome Jack, Gray Mann and Miku

EDIT: Remove also all Arena maps Granary as a example.... No hp packs lol. Maybe Outdoors? Deadly pits aswell...

I don't think its too many maps to remove, it simply means that folks are forced to pick other great maps like reiltas hills and outdoors rather than hiveminding towards the only maps they recognise.

We can only vote the Maps we know which turns out that specific maps are overplayed and becoming boring, i love Military but its probably one of the most overplayed Maps in this Server so is Crevice, Weaponsdepot/Weaponstorage and sadly Dustshowdown probably one of the worse maps we have, too many Snipers..
 
Before this thread gets declined. With every deleted map we need a new one. So @UberMedicFully @Leo. and @BreadandYeast pls put maps on here with download links. Kevin already knows about the DR maps. And i would like to get the opinion from our new ff2 admin @Darkwolf .

That map has another name, I believe it's called vsh_towertop but I'm not sure.
arena_watchtower is the classic valve arena map

Alright, I set up the poll. I tried my best to make it fair and this is what I came up with.

PLEASE VOTE FOR THE MAP YOU WANT TO BE REMOVED

The only reason why yaybread isn't a part of the vote is that it's already tasked up to be removed. Thank you to @Darkwolf for the help with the maps.

I also want to talk about vsh_military_area possibly

I find it a broken map and there's genuinely not enough room for the hale to get knocked back into, there's more factors into why the map isn't balanced for the hale especially but I'd be up to discussing it if more people think the same.
 
Why isn’t there an option for no maps to be removed?

Yeah that poll wasn't the best...But It gives me a little idea of what is the most wanted to be removed at least.
From what I know, popular maps will not get removed. You can suggest edits for them as we have the stripper plugin which makes map edits...easy I guess? But then it's asking a mapper to do that for FF2.

Let's not suggest new maps here. Do it in an all ready 'add maps to ff2' thread that's currently open or make a new one.

-vsh_weaponsdepot_final (i believe there's been a lot of talk about how there's dups...Lots of arguments. Rather not start another war)
-vsh_aquaticbase_b5 (only 3 votes)

All those in staying can be suggested for edits but lets find someone whos willing. Unless it's small edits, then I might know someone who is willing to help

Feel free to be like 'Hold on Madact...I think this map should be ___' so I can move accordingly. You might want to give a good reason with it so I know exactly why it wants to be moved.

I'm considering this FF2 only but some vsh feedback might be interesting

Popularity shouldn't affect if a map should stay or not, I know its elitist but removing them anyways is for the best, especially dustshowdown, remove dustshowdown.

Crevice often has 20 minute matches, though a sniper nerf would make it a "meh" map. (Limit sniper to 2)

Dustshowdown is horrible, I dont even know why people want to play on it other than to farm points as sniper, I'd rather drink hot steaming piss than play on that map.

Arcticbase has long matches and bad map design. Vents and sidepaths are huge hallways, sentries on trees, trees with no collision hiding snipers and engineers can delay by using teleporters and hiding.

Aquaticbase probably only has 3 votes because nobody knows what it is, which is preferable because of its bad design.

Weapons depot should be easy to decompile in order to edit/remove the water and nerf secret room. I can do it if need be.

So about this I know there's two versions of the map. The original one where the secret room is much more difficult to get in and the other one is created by Berke where secret room is easy.
The easy secret room is proposed to be removed in another suggestion so the original one stays. If you want two weapons depot you'll need to edit berke's version. I've asked berke before about editing it but no response so my assumption is he's not interested. That's when I moved it to remove as everyone would just pile into the secret room.

I'll do it when I have free time, college ends proper next week so that would most likely be when I get around to it.
