I think the context here matters.
Was it caused by mapvote? Then yes, regive.

If he got freeday for others and picked people and wanted to regive (possibel abuse of lr) then no he doesnt have to regive.

There is no rule that forces him to regive lrs if one has already been choosen as far as I know.

He accidentally chose freeday for all, He wanted to redo for a custom LR

I'm on _Black's side here, there's nothing in the rules saying a warden HAS to regive LR if the LR receiver requests it.

The rules revolving removing LRs is understandably confusing because this line can be found in the rules:

However that is only a description of that command, and as mentioned by others above this post there is nothing that directly states that LR must be removed and re-given upon request. If the player selected an LR the warden performed their job properly.
