Howdy y'all.

Earlier this year we passed a new change to panda where the round would end after a certain time once warden dies.

Now that we've had the change for some time and we've let it breathe, I'd like to revisit this suggestion and propose a change. I think 3 minutes feels a bit too long and i think 2 minutes is much more reasonable and matches the time that a DR would be achieveable anyways. Do you guys feel the same way?

Quick 2 week poll to see where our heads are at. Feedback is appreciated.

I’m kinda conflicted with this to be honest. It sounds weird to say but I feel 3 minutes IS too much, but 2 minutes feels too little.

I feel 2 minutes 30 seconds would be a fair compromise.

I think in general shortening the round once it’s a free day has been an ok change, but 2 minutes is simply not enough time.

Sweeping the BLU team on any map that isn’t hop sized as anything but a scout would be impossible

Yeah i can see your point of view. My pain point in playing the game is that i absolutely hate waiting for the next round to start while im dead and feel like any changes that allow players to get back in the game sooner is a positive change in my book. The last guards after warden dies usually delay and hide trying to get themselves to LGKA usually just prolongs the round and having a 2 minute timer is a good way to combat behaviors like that and encourages them to hunt and chase sooner.

Rather than a sharp cutoff at 2 minutes why not implement a soft cutoff like guards being told to hunt and kill everyone, this gives the rebellers a chance to better locate the blues, ends the round if people aren’t rebelling, and you could even set up a notification if someone is willing to set that up.
The change isn’t bad per se, it’s just detrimental to some player’s experiences, I am against this change, but don’t actively have a role in the community, and won’t interfere with your voting.
If you are tired of being bored while dead, why not give you a standoff to wrap the round up, while also reducing wait time some.

Im fine with this, but we should try to find a way to prevent reds just delaying and waiting out the timer, especially since blues cannot fire on reds until they rebel or they are last guard.

It's odd.
I also feel 3 minutes can lead to some major lulls in gameplay, but when there are Reds actively rebelling it gives them ample time.

I think this choice relies on personal experiences with reds rebelling or not rebelling. I've seen a good few rounds where warden dies to a rush, the red that killed them dies, and then nothing happens for a full three minutes. Personally I think it being lowered to 2:30 like Nergal said is a decent compromise, as warden locking takes about 30 seconds anyways.

Agreeing with Nergal's comment, as those are exactly my thoughts.
Why not an in between timer.

2 might feel short on paper but when you factor in the time it takes to lock, it will feel a lot better in game.

I saw a few matches yesterday, the warden dies and the 3 minute timer feels like an eternity, it should be shortened to 2 minutes because nobody is rebelling, nor talking , nor hunting. Its this boring that I even forget about the timer . What really needs to happen is for people to start doing something, but that's something we can't help , so the next best thing is to shorten the timer.
That's all from me

God damn some of y’all would have died at some of the rounds from the past if 3 minutes feels like an eternity

Hear me out...

What if we give all reds max ammo after a minute and a half instead...
That would be an interesting idea, im not sure if you were joking, but genuinely the problem isnt the timer, its that nothing happens. Blues cant kill reds unless they rebel, and reds just dont want to rebel. If we forceably give them ammo, it will not only shorten the time, but make the spectating part more enjoyable. As I write this i am waiting for a round to end.
