Completed [JB] Tighter clarification on Trivia/Jeopardy rules and restrictions on Mass Trivia (1 Viewer)

I truthfully think this suggestion was a long time coming, although the recent mishap might've sped it up. Despite that I believe this could've been worded alot better.

I agree with most of the suggestion and like it's been said before in this suggestion that whole restricting questions thing definitely feels overkill! If people do not know the answer to a question the warden is obliged to make a new one otherwise it would be delaying on his part, either that or he could give hints to help the reds find the right answer, I genuinely feel that restricting trivia to only math or tf2 related questions would essentially kill a minigame that has the potential to be fun.

Besides that I do believe we need to clarify some things in the jeopardy ruleset to make it better understandable and not fall in the same trap that happened a little bit ago,Cheers.
You're not wrong about how I could've re-worded this, and I'm totally open for alternatives on how to curb the impossible/obscure questions in Jailbreak. At the very least I'd like to see questions be restricted to ones that most people would at least be familiar with even if the questions may be challenging. Something like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, Mario, or Legend of Zelda questions (to give some examples) I'd be fine with because they're topics that most people would be familiar with. I just don't want questions on some like super obscure and hardly known television show from the 1970's for example. Stuff like Skibidi Toilet and Brawl Stars might be popular but you'd be surprised to see how little the JB playerbase knows about them besides a select few.

I've altered the poll to separate the options of restricting questions and making Trivia be done in the designated area to make it somewhat easier.

@Nergal Nergalton how do you do trivia outside of trivia without breaking current rules for jailbreak?
What I was thinking.

I belive Mass Trivia with custom Topics should be LR only however if Masstrivia has TF2 (no comic) or Math questions it should be done whenever in my opinion.

If warden does not know answers to custom topics he is able to revert to normal tf2/math questions to avoid unnecessary drama.

Overall mass trivia can be fun if done correctly.
It would be a shame to let it go over a few incidents about it.

This is how trivia typically goes anyway, I don’t see a need to restrict any of the cool unique questions I actually might find interesting in order to fix what isn’t even broken.
Except for custom LRs forcing a super specific topic which at best get denied and at worst is a 10 minute waste of my time.

Imo none of these changes are needed, but I do think that adding “trivia must be played in the trivia mini game” to the rules wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Honestly just add a "no obscure/opinionated questions" to the trivia terminology and call it a day. If people throw a fit send them to the gallows where they belong.

That's really the only thing people are upset about anyways. Just solve the problem at its root rather than finding loopholes to fix it.

Like semi said in his first response:
I think this leaves a bit too much leeway in terms of interpretation, when does something become "obscure"?

If the warden asks a question and nobody knows the answer, he’s delaying by not changing his question imo.

What is considered "obscure" is by definition subjective.
We either rigidly restrict what can be asked, rigidly define what can be asked (whitelist like Semi said), or do not restrict what can be asked at all.
I am in favor of the final option.

If I see the previous posts and comments (I'm still a newbie here), I think just suggesting deniable topics for trivia would be more favorable, but that's just me. 😅

For clarification that's probably already in the rules because we talked about this back when soccer trivia was banned
Whoops, never realized. Will update the poll to reflect that. Semi did tell me it was in the rules in the past but got deleted unintentionally.

With how its going right now, we will be not be changing anything, rather we will just be implementing the "Unwritten Rules" that have been standard for years.

"Jeopardy can only be played in the maps defined "Trivia" area and must include the use of buttons to decide who will answer"
"Questions asked must be of general knowledge as well as reasonable"

Will be the only additions and amendments, we will also crack down on people doing skibidi biden trivia and making sure mass trivia is done properly, count your days 🤫 🧏‍♂️
If you would like to say anything please do so, I will close this thread on Monday.

"General Knowledge" is once again subjective by definition.

It's an unwritten rule to ask about subjects Reds would know, as to prevent delay.
I think this suffices as is, without any de jure limitations.

again subjective by definition
That’s covered under common sense, it’s worked for years until people like you (take the offence 😈) did silly questions.

The purpose of this whole saga is to get the unwritten rules, well, written. Judging by the last few weeks, being unwritten just isn’t enough.
Implementing concrete solutions is what’s best for the current state of JB.
It’s simple and easy to understand what’s not to love.

Have all been added to the rules
