I usually don’t make map removal suggestions like this so soon after a map is added but Galaxy is clearly not ready yet. Through one playing of it I found a lot of really big problems, and been told of more:
- Sand Obby is poorly designed. No safe space for BLUs and multiple REDs got stuck in the gravity areas.
- Ice Obby has no invisible roof covering it making it possible for BLUs to fall in.
- Boss Fight is bugged, apparently BLUs can get stuck in the ground when they teleport.
- A lack of a safe space for BLUs in a lot of minigames.
- Very cramped in many areas.
- Captain Toad teleporters are right next to each other making body blocking possible.
- You can’t even shoot other players if they are on a different planet from yours, seriously crippling rebellers.

These are all the problems I’ve observed or been told, but in general the map to me is a very big case of style over substance. Visually it’s very impressive looking and captures the style of Super Mario Galaxy really well, but man do the actual layout and minigames need work.

very cramped, especially in deathcrate. saw a warden tell all reds to go there just to end up falling off

Just to point out some of your issues...

If boss fight is broken, just ban the minigame until the minigame becomes fixed.
Ice obby having no roof warrants removing the map? There is ample space around the obby to traverse and to see the reds inside the minigame.
It's intentional design to not be able to shoot rebellers on different planets. If this was enabled, all it would take is a single sniper to camp on the back end of the map and kill all of blue team.

I can't speak on the sand obby and captain toad minigames being broken, haven't been able to play the map since the playtests, but what I would say is, we shouldn't be constantly adding / removing this map. At the least, point out the issues to hehe troll directly and let them fix it as opposed to creating a suggestion so quickly for removal. Guaranteed by the time this suggestion goes through the time to pass/decline, the issues mentioned will be fixed.

Yeah I'm down to just keep it in rotation for an impending fix.
No, for now on its removal.

this was just dumb

Its probably decent enough to not remove it and wait for fixes, but for me its just that the layout of it is throwing me off, and just doesnt fit my style. Good luck with mapping tho.

I feel as though so long as updates come the map should stay- why go through another suggestion to re-implement it rather than let the updates roll while keeping it in the rotation?

I'd say the map functions well enough right now, sure it's not amazing but I'd say it meets the criteria of what a map should be. With a couple of updates I'd say it could even be pretty good.

Besides all the new source jank, I have one main issue with the map as it stands. The long jump mechanic. I don't like it at all, it's sole purpose is to add a unique feature to the map, but not only is not made very clear (there's one sign near armory but 70% of players are probably going to miss it), but from what I've been told it's physically required to complete the ice obby. All the long jump does is allow for a scout to easily rush a warden at extra speed that they don't need. I think the mechanic is better off gone entirely.

calassic's thoughts mirror mine for this once

you can literally just circle back to get more momentum

so essentially the polar opposite of bunker...

say it louder for the people in the back

right. im going to change that platform part again into something else that doesn't require the long jump.

thank you all for your feedback & time. i hope to see this map stay on the server just a little longer than 2 days this time. <3

I'm voting no purely based on the fact that we have a active map creator on this one and can listen to feedback/suggestions for trying to make the map better.
I would've votes yes if there was inactivity, but the map functions as we have reported back to Hehe (before the update broke some of it's mechanics).

With this being said: @hehe troll the map became a rebel haven. It's so easy to rebel on this map that Jailfort would like to have a word with you. 🤣

Now being able to say that I've officially played the map I don't really see a lot of the criticism. The long jump mechanic is actually quite nice, I like the flavor of it and especially for the obbies it really helps out some of the slower classes (or if you're good skip some parts as faster classes). While there is some work to be done specifically on bossfight, and perhaps relocating some of the toad teleporters due to body blocking problems, I feel as though that this map is as of now at very least playable and could quickly become one of my favorites if some of the kinks are worked out.

Specifically addressing some of the complaints:

- I don't hear complaining about quake not having safe spaces (you can taunt kill/shoot through just about every minigame on the map), so I feel as though that is not a good standard to hold this to if that map gets a pass.

-Rebelling on this map is going to be tough simply due to blues being able to have such big sightlines, but that is a by-product of going for the style that you wanted to go for. Removing the barrier between worlds would make blue snipers unstoppable so I would actually advocate against that.

Perhaps my only big suggestion:

Add some little safe areas for the blues particularly with the obbies and jump rope.

LISTEN UP.
the argument about "boss fight being broken" is INVALID. flip the switch only once, and let the reds play. if you flip it again while it's ongoing, that's where the problem lies. (i can fix this in the next update)
so blues, don't be stupid
