Literally everything you mentioned can be fixed with a patch, I don’t understand reverting an entire map because of a few problems (that aren’t even game breaking) and nostalgia bait.
It’s just preference for me personally. Not big on the new layout of quake even in the event everything is fixed.

But honestly, what’s the harm in reverting a map while a new version is being worked on? The issues are already known by players and potential map makers, so why not use the older version that people may or may not prefer while a new versions being worked on.
We did it with Alcatraz and people survived fine enough. there were people that complained, but I feel like complaints for new quake missing would be much less than what we had during the OG Alcatraz return.

Also, I’m not 100% confident, but I’ve heard that the map maker for quake has said an update is unlikely. Not entirely certain, but it is what I’ve been told by others.

Didn't we already have this suggestion?
IMO, the old quake never stood out, it was boring, and being a newcomer at the time it was still in rotation, every path or hallway looked the same, so it was a labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. I like the new version a whole lot more, I do with it got a few bug fixes, but I dont think we should revert it to what I believe to be a worse version in almost every way.
