Currently, the version of quake ran is jb_quake_redux_stripped_f , and currently it has its issues.
  • The roof gives a claustrophobic feel to an already cramped map
  • Some of the minigames have bugs that hinder the gameplay
  • The guards hinder the whole kitchen area from working properly when out, as they shoot at anyone they choose
  • the opening cell area starts off completely closed off, giving a huge disadvantage to blues(easily cornered)
  • theres alot of redundant teleporters in the bloodrun area thats just not needed(and basically unusable due to the slow elevator to get up to the area with the teleporters)
  • the main secrets were changed to be too convoluted and not worth it while rebelling
My suggestion is to revert to the old version of quake ran by panda. this map is broader, less cluttered, and makes a good map for reds, blues and rebellers. The secrets are fun to do and balanced to make chaotic, but still fun rounds. Most of the minigames are exactly the same, and may even play better(like steady pace). The old version of quake was one of the more played maps on the server, but since redux got added its barely played anymore. While this version of quake was a good attempt to make a revamped idea of what the map was, the original shines through its simplicity.

new quake doesn't really add any new minigames and I am not personally a fan of the changes. Revert for me.

I remember way more fun times on old quake too for what its worth. Can't do some of the really silly moments JB THRIVES off of because of the rocket men scattered everywhere

my only problem with the quake redux is that the roof/skybox combo tends to feel pretty cramped, but otherwise the map is significantly better than the og version (except for the bugged turret near soccer and diner). The map is infinitely better looking aesthetically, and while the layout still isn't the best, I do think it's still better than the og version. The minigames being so similar is a non-issue to me, since it doesn't detract from the map.
If Denied tweaked the roof and some of the other buggy bits just a little bit, I feel like quake redux would be inarguably better than it's og version.

i didnt try propose the minigame similarity as an issue. I was saying that the minigames were (basically) the exact same between the original version and redux(to switch the conversation more towards the layout/other additions), and i tried to highlight the other aspects of the map that were of issue to me(guards shooting at everyone, roof, more cramped layout in general)

the only real big difference with the mingames (besides like disco i think), is that the steady pace on redux doesnt work

The new Quake is hardly played and I could never get used to the new layout. Don’t have any problems going back to the old version.

Rebelling on quake vs new quake is night and day, the new one is so cramped and getting ammo is a pain. The old one had interested power up secrets without having to memorize a COD Zombies easter egg in order to get them, while also not being too broken and feeling unbeatable. Honestly this map used to be one of my favorites, the new one never gets played and I completely understand why.

I'm torn with this one. On paper the newer version should just be strictly better, but as someone mentioned above rebelling was nerfed pretty heavily. I prefer the newer version, but there were significant pros lost with the old Quake.
I really like both current and past Quake, and I think people need to play this map more. When it is played, which is rather rare, I have a pretty good time with it.

Holding my vote for others, leaning towards a Keep It vote.

P.S Remove the third option from the poll lol

new map is so confusing also the soldiers on top of the map are a pain in the ass to do a round with. the old map was simple and nice

I don't understand why people are complaining about the layout of new quake. The layout is pretty much the same as old quake except more open. Old quake had a bunch of hallways people were always getting lost in. The only thing that's worse about new quake is the soldiers shooting when they're not supposed to and the cells needing to be open in order to leave the cell area

After stewing on it a bit, I think I will vote Keep It for now.
I think people need to give this map more of a chance and play it a bit more. Granted I will not be torn if we do revert it. Both versions are good fun.

Literally everything you mentioned can be fixed with a patch, I don’t understand reverting an entire map because of a few problems (that aren’t even game breaking) and nostalgia bait.

I agree with Banana, there isn't really a reason to revert things that can be easily avoided and changed through updating the map in a patch
I like the aesthetics of both and I DO miss the old glitch with the head that stacked projectiles but I think this version is way more fleshed out in terms of minigames and theme.
The AI soldiers were an issue because they didnt give a clear indication of if YOU were the one being shot at and led to a lot of non-rebelling reds being caught in the crossfire and unintentionally dying.
Other than that, I see zero reason to revert to the original version, I'm voting No.

I think both versions of the map are fine, I'd argue the new version is a lot better looking than the old one and plays better, we had both in rotation at one point, but I'd rather just have a fix that updates the new map instead of just reverting back to an inferior version of the map for rotation.
