Hello


im making this poll based on demands from me and other players who mostly did Not enjoy fighting this broken boss, for 3 major reasons.

1- Pushes around players on every kill: This is such an annoying mechanic as if i was any close ranged damage dealer like> Demo , spy , solly etc we get pushed away and he get no downsides whatso ever.

2- Annoying rage: His rage spawns necro smashers under players that insta kills regardless of being on uber or not and pushes everyone around really far and spawns a bunch of hammers that rains and deals too much damage if not insta kill as well,

3- Ear rape: on top of all that we get ear rape sound effects on rage and when this boss gets a kill


Yes in short this boss is too strong and annoying and i think this server will be much better off without him as there is already a bunch of annoying boss that does the job already.

id love to hear your takes on it and why do you agree/disagree with this.

i really like the boss, it doesnt feel unfair to fight and if you can reposition often and properly. heavies might have issue with the boss if they are revved but outside of that most classes shouldnt have much issues. it effectively countering specific camping playstyles is also great so people dont camp :)

that being said, the knockback on kill is very annoying and could honestly be changed or removed, maybe it should be made so it knocks people in front as opposed to everyone around the boss. being able to put people out of position and easier to pick off for killing someone is really stupid, especially for spies

in general, the rage is preety cheap as it could kill clueless people or a few who are clumped, or it could not kill anyone multiple times. as long as people are wary of it there is virtually no chance it will kill you, it can be useful still since it knocks people up and if the hammers hit before you are close to the ground you could pick off a few players. the rockets are very rng tough, i typically dont pay attention to them too much and only died like once to them, but i agree this should be changed (or removed idk) in some way, maybe reducing the total amount of hammers that drop but increasing their hitbox/ explosion radius, that way you dont have to constantly pay attention

First and second reasons are about his main kit, without them he is just another boss to be removed.
However I would agree to remove his rain ability for 2 aoe hits on rage activation or some kind of ability that help him deal with groups.

I honestly don't care about sound effects in-game, but they could be indeed lowered.
 
I think instead of rocket rain, degroot could have a slow moving rocket hammer spray instead with the same explosion radius it has.
the knockback on kill can be reduced in how much it knocks people back quite easily, that and the radius can be reduced also so less people are affected.

personally I don't mind this hale being removed, reworked or whatever since it's a concept based from many years ago, if I were to do him now the approach would've quite different, except the necro smash on everyone because that's apart of the identity.

What's the plan for the rework? What was mentioned by autismo? Is autismo doing it?
