This will probably cause guards to camp armoury entrances alot so they can kill rebels faster and if they are a sniper with crits it will be devastating (stand far away and scope on the armoury entrance if a red doesn't notice him he is dead).
So you're saying that this rule allowing REDs to go around and vandalize armory entrances is logical because without it, BLUs would camp armory entrances. Sorry, but no. That doesn't make sense logically.
A few map examples.
On
mlcastle, REDs are not allowed to destroy the painting of Peach, or the wall behind, or the bookshelf in the Luigi-Mario combined cell, or the wall behind that bookshelf. However! They are allowed to break the ceiling panel of armory, that flooring to open the tunnel behind armory, and the piping - they just can't go in there. Does that make the slightest sense? BLUs oftentimes camp armory - they're usually within the area, and can immediately attain vision of the armory when they see that a RED has been labelled a rebel in the chat; or by soccer.
On
chretien, REDs are not allowed to destroy the electric covering of the elevator lift - in part because this would allow them to enter that upper area (in which they are KOS; no difference from armory in that regard) and open the exits to the prison. But, they can go and break the ceiling of armory. I've seen on three instances (at least) guards killing REDs for breaking that armory entrance, but not for destroying the paneling of the lift controls. But, it's also not allowed because it's simply vandalism. And yet armory entrance isn't? The rule is logically inconsistent. This map is literally 5 massive wide-open areas. Breaking each and every panel (for jetpack) is KOSable, but armory isn't.
On
spacejail, REDs are not allowed to break the vents above pool. Why? Vandalism. They are, however, allowed to break the armory entrance - they just can't go inside that tunnel. What? From any reasonable distance, that angle makes the REDs inside the tunnel basically have a clean getaway - unless the BLUs armory camp. Okay, so what can the BLUs do? Nine times out of ten, they kill the REDs vandalizing anyway. The other one time, they're forced to spend their time chasing down the RED who broke into the armory while protected by this rule, and they couldn't kill them. But you can vandalize the vents above flippin' pool. What?! Another map that promotes camping armory - the only two entranceways are right by a chokepoint of the side halls and a few steps outside that area in the direction of Fall Game.
On
hopjb, REDs are not able to break the glass at Burger King, or by Sweeper. Breaking this little window of harmless glass, that doesn't affect gameplay in any major way, is KOSable. BLUs break it all the time. REDs don't, they'll get killed for it. They are however, time and time again, allowed to break the two armory entrances. Again, the rule is logically inconsistent. Hitting the BLU Uber'd Sniper makes someone KOSable, as does glass, but armory entrances aren't. Breaking the glass above Four Corners is vandalism and is KOSable, as by Dodgeball. This map is #1 for armory camping - after a RED goes into the tunnel by Roulette, there is literally only two ways to kill them - armory camping or BLU-team vandalism of the other tunnel. Both are against rules.
Apologies if this seems incoherent, this was typed up at around 8:30 AM, with no sleep. Don' mind me. The point is, the rule logically makes no sense; it's caused confusion, only creates problem during rounds, and is inconsistent with the general rule of vandalism.
It's also very prohibiting for new players to the server - "You killed me last round for vandalizing and breaking the glass! But they're literally going into the tunnel into armory! What?!" or even new players to BLU - "Vandalism isn't allowed.. except for literally the most important part of the map, the most guarded section, and the most needed to maintain order in the gamemode?! There, to get to that pivotal location, they can vandalize?! What?!"
Don't mind the shitty drawings. 8)
