Correct, you have a full team available to defend you. So whats wrong with having anBut That's hale choice and by the time he does make it to your spawn you have a Full team available to defend you
mapIncredibly Small
Scout is limited to 4 (i think) so that is not a big problem. Anyway, annoying scouts happens on EVERY map.Not my playstyle but happens alot on the servers you have to admit.(Also happens to be one of the most annoying parts of vsh/ff2)
I can see where you're coming from with it, but keep in mind that the servers get pretty full. Imagine 25-30 people on that map, absolute chaos.
You do make a valid point with the trick-stabbing and such, the jump-pads help the map out a bit for mobility. What it really comes down to with this map is 2 things: it's small, and preference.
Some people may like it, some may not, but I was admin of a server that ran this map with 20-25 people on it at a time, It was so much chaos, many people raging, no-one wanted to be hale because you would just be knocked back into the killzone multiple times and die, or even just as a player, everyone would either fall to their deaths from a misplaced jump or getting stuck on something in the way.
And you can't forget about hale's rage. With the low mobility, if you're caught in that rage you're doomed.
This map in my opinion is a bad fit for a popular server, but that's my opinion.
classic madactAaaah good memories...I use to stand at the bottom of the map waiting for hale to fly off and get teleport back at the bottom so I could backstab instantly
I've played Oilrig and its not such a fun experience. having to do nothing but go in circles and worry about a Large instakill zone at the sametime is not something i call Likeable. i actually would like to be able to breathe then also deal with Low amount of ammopacks and healthpacks on Oilrig. Compared to Fortdesk. im not liking it either which its pretty smaller then Military area itself. But it has Tons of healthpacks and hale is in your spawn in 2 seconds
I know this, I was referencing the low mobility. He can wipe out over half the team in one swoop. That is the EXACT purpose of hales rage, to give him a few quick kills.
Hale's jump is primarily up, with a slight control over where you land, but if you're thrown off a cliff, and jump straight up, there's a very little chance you'll actually land back on the ledge.Saxton Hale and all other hales (barr 1) has the ability to jump, high. This can easily be used to avoid getting knocked out into the killzone every second.
You do have a fair point here. But chaos is good in moderate amounts, smaller map, more chaos.Server is limited to 24 people. And there is nothing wrong with "chaos". Thats pretty much what the whole gamemode is about - everyone trying to kill hale at the same time - which obviously causes "chaos".
Fortdesk is a larger map though, with more roam-around room. It's less likely you'll accidentally jump off or even get knocked off when there's more room to have."worry about a Large instakill " You literally mention Fortdesk which also kills you when you fall off. It's literally not hard to not jump off the map, especially as there are barriers on all of the major walkways which prevent you falling off unless you do something dumb
Never disagreed more.Hale's jump is primarily up, with a slight control over where you land, but if you're thrown off a cliff, and jump straight up, there's a very little chance you'll actually land back on the ledge.
Most players can't strafe well with hale, or at least in my experience. I have seen some that are extremely good at it though, and I agree that it may be possible, but like I said, unlikely, especially for the average player.Never disagreed more.
Hales jump is able to be controlled GREATLY. With simple strafing, which can be learnt by anyone, Hale can EASILY get back onto the map away from where he got pushed off so that he doesn't get pushed off the same way.

So yes if you have some skills in the art of strafe you could master hale upon this map.
