So y'all know that Miami has a money mechanic in which REDs can run around the map and gather money from various sources. They can either do that (more easily) as a Freeday or as a Rebeller. Current rules are already stating that Rebellers must be actively rebelling (aka hunting BLUs to murder) otherwise they are considered to be delaying the round and therefore can be ghosted to then kill. Freedays can generally do whatever they want but in the case that they are the last remaining they can also be killed had a DR been given and completed already. (As far as my understanding of the rules go.)
So here's my proposition: let's just either forbid or discourage "Money Gathering" DRs.
A lot of people already have a heavy dislike on the map and one of the reasons I see being shared most often is that the money mechanic is bad and it generally ends up delaying rounds unnecessarily. That reasoning is valid as it *technically* isn't against the rules. Personally, however, I consider it as delaying especially seeing as other minigames can be done. Also, the RED will (most likely) die at the end of the DR either way and I haven't met many BLUs willing to give the LR winner their money back on the start of the following round; effectively wasting the DR in itself. An argument can be made that killing REDs is part of how BLUs get their money but to that I will remind people to make REDs play minigames and that in reality BLUs have the easier way to make money -- by simply existing.
So... I decided to give my idea a little test run for the last few times Miami was voted on and actually played, As far as I could observe, the playerbase at the time seemed to be less annoyed by Miami after I started proposing the idea to my LR winners. It is also important to note that the majority of REDs seemed to understand my reasoning once I explained it to them and generally were amiable to change their DRs to something else. Another thing I'd like to address is that I remember being told by Admins that Gambling isn't a minigame and therefore couldn't really be done as a DR but I'm unsure of who said it or if I'm remembering wrong.
So! On that note I wanted to open the floor to everyone else and hear their thoughts on it. Have at it!
Sidenote: I don't necessarily want a rule change but I did feel like this was something important-ish to talk about. :s
