Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great day so far.

I am suggesting that we unrestrict Simon Says from its current LR only form but with a catch:

1. There must be four or less blues in order for the warden to play simon says. This allows for a median to where if there is a moderately low amount of blues for 20 reds you can still run a normal round while also thinning out reds that aren't necessarily paying attention, making wardens not have to rely on purely cell wars or other means.

2. Standardize the method of starting and ending Simon Says in the rules. "Simon says we are playing simon says, simon says I am simon" and "Simon says we are no longer playing simon says, simon says I am no longer simon" is what I would view as a clear and concise way to start and end the minigame without reds being confused, while also alerting the blue team to be careful. When the LR pops up as Simon Says I do this and it always works. Freekilling simply has not been a problem in my recent experience with this LR.

3. Unless specified otherwise "Warden kills only" takes effect at the start of the minigame, but may be rescinded upon the warden ordering it. This would be akin to minigames where blues could not press buttons without the warden's direct permission

4. Force Simon Says to be started at the beginning of the day while reds are in cells, like it is now. That would give it the same cell wars type vibe while also alerting Reds that they must be careful when listening to the warden this round.

Simon Says can be a fun minigame for people to play and has seen an uptick amongst the later night population, and I feel as though some standardization could allow this minigame to be used outside of LRs with little to no problems.

Here is what I would add as "Simon Says" under the rules
----------------------------
Simon Says
is a minigame where the Prisoners have to follow "Simon AKA the Warden" to follow Simons orders, if the Prisoner fails to follow Simons order he will be killed. This must be started by saying "Simon says we are playing simon says, simon says I am simon" and ended by saying "Simon says we are no longer playing simon says, simon says I am no longer simon". This minigame must be started at the beginning of the round, and the warden will proceed with a normal day after it begins. Unless otherwise stated by the warden, he is the only blue able to kill during this time.
Simon Says may only be played with four or less guards alive at the start of the round, however this minigame can be chosen as an LR without the guard requirement.
----------------------------

Vote if you think it should be unrestricted or kept as is!

We have banned trick orders for a reason, Simon Says isnt fun to play, watch or even moderate, it leads to an unattractive playstyle that we have banished to other communities.

Simon says isn't fun in the slightest. It's the same thing as a normal round but warden can say "afk freeze" and kill you for not moving. Doesn't matter how many Blus, it just isn't fun to play or watch.

simon says is the only exception to the trick orders rule, unrestricting it from lr just makes no sense. I am one of the many people who still want it fully banned but apparently it's "too iconic of a minigame to ban" so like. But yeah keep it as lr only if anything.

While I agree about trick orders being banned for a reason, I feel Simon Says is pretty cut and dry especially if you clarify it like I have suggested. Reds that do not catch on do it to themselves, as for the first minute of a round all reds are muted they will be able to hear clearly what is going to be happening for the round. Moreover, if someone were to die as a red in this minigame because a warden did not say "Simon Says" it is purely because they did not listen rather than the warden actually tricking them.

Simon says relies heavily on a fun warden. It being LR only is kind of the worst solution to the problem since most the time warden gets forced to do it unwillingly. So I get where you're coming from trying to make it a playable minigame. It should honestly either be completely unrestricted or completely banned though, in my opinion. Like imagine if we made Disco/Freeze dance LR only. Like that's still first reaction/last reaction but it's LR only now. I'd be down for Simon says to return, but given the last poll about it returning I doubt it will come back. Putting a blue limit or other restrictions likely won't sway anybody to change their minds either way, so it's probably redundant.

I love simon says to bits, but I think it being lr only is fine. It being lr is like a warning for whats to come. If you get caught out, you only really have yourself to blame because it (usually) says Simon Says in big red text at the bottom.
Also I think it would be over done which would make the game unfun, especially in the hands of some wardens who don't utilize it well anyway.

I don't think it would be overdone- most of the wardens that do it likely would be regulars and during the day it is incredibly uncommon to see less than 4 blues at least during peak hours. Of course during the hours I am on it is pretty different, sub 3 blues is common and even then commonly the Simon Says LR still goes off without a hitch.

In my suggestion the warning of whats to come would happen at the beginning of a round, you shouldn't need big red text to constantly remind you to remember something that is a constant throughout an entire round of play. Plus if there were also the options of CW/Mingle at the beginning of rounds as well chances are it would be a fairly even split likely leaning more into cell wars anyways.

So there's a bit I have to say. Especially playing jailbreak under the trick order servers for the longest time. Despite doing my LRs that are typically games people enjoy, one I rarely touch really is Simon Says. I've expressed my disdain towards it ironically as an Ex WLN staff. It was far more hellish over there "Simon says I'm Simon, Simon Says we are playing simon says, Simon says Im kevin, Simon says Kevin says we are playing kevin says". Basically imagine if detroit was a real place. It was really bad, and I appreciate how much more simple it is on this server. I think how it is, keeping simon says is something that is to appease the kind of players that do like trick orders. While it is a minority it is there in case of LRs. I think that is fine as is. However I don't really want to see this round overplayed often, while yes 4 blues or less is a decent compromise there are times with lower population servers can last for a good 3 maps. That could lead it to being far more overplayed. I have been of the belief for the longest time that minigames should kill players, whether custom or map intended that's how I view jailbreak should be played. No trigger happiness. This is honestly the complete opposite of said philosophy. Its a LR that promotes trying to trick reds into dying and getting points, I don't think it's something that should become the norm. As is, Simon says is in a fine position. Whether people think it should be gone or played more often, it appeases both sides at the moment.

I don’t think Simon Says should be added as a regular minigame outside of LRs. If it’s open to all rounds, it might get too chaotic and i already know people will get annoyed and i dont want to end up with a warden whos going to do simon says every round. personally if that would happend i’d prob end up leaving the server. I like playing the map minigames, not simon says constantly it being lr only pevents that

This is no different than when a warden spams the same minigame, like die or don't die on oranger- or climb on hopJB/cell wars in general for that matter.

Your point is valid though you could express this concern for a whole variety of minigames.

Coming from the days where I played a lot of Simon Says (I was Simon from time to time, so I have my fair share of experience), here's how I feel about the suggestion.
Agree or disagree with me (or ignore me 🤣), I just want to share my opinion regarding this minigame. 😉

The suggestion:
There must be four or less blues in order for the warden to play simon says. This allows for a median to where if there is a moderately low amount of blues for 20 reds you can still run a normal round while also thinning out reds that aren't necessarily paying attention, making wardens not have to rely on purely cell wars or other means.
Sure it keeps quality/chaos control if it is left at 4 or less blue's, but that'll lead to unnecessary reports (example: Reason: doing Simon Says while 6 blue's are alive).
You could argue that it can have the same treatment as Cell Wars, but both are 2 different scenario's for reporting in my opinion. One is for enabling FF and one is just to keep track for the amount of blue's who can keep up with the trick orders.
I would be sad if this this minigame is to be restricted to a certain amount of blue's.
Standardize the method of starting and ending Simon Says in the rules.
That was always a standard if you are going to be doing Simon Says in JB, even if it wasn't added to the rules.
It's a good thing if added to the rules to make it more clear, but it should be common sense to say those 2 sentences.
Force Simon Says to be started at the beginning of the day while reds are in cells, like it is now.
Disagreed. If it remained LR only I can see why it should be done at the start, as it is to avoid the "LR DANIEL" messages.
In the days that I played it as a regular minigame, like any minigame (unless stated otherwise) Simon Says can be done at any point, as Simon Says doesn't need a full day like HG, Pokemon or HNS.
To have it being restricted to only start and end is just not the way the game was originally made and intended to be in my opinion.
If persons don't listen, let the warden just use the overtalk command to make that order clear or make sure all of them are off mic if the order is about to be given.

Other points
"Simon says I'm Simon, Simon Says we are playing simon says, Simon says Im kevin, Simon says Kevin says we are playing kevin says".
I'm glad I never got to witness this sort of trick order nor have been in this position before. That truly sounds like trick order hell. 😂

I like playing the map minigames, not simon says constantly
Agreed and disagreed with this statement.
Agreed: Simon Says should not be overdone, as that could be boring/repetitive very quickly
Disagreed: you can argue the same for some minigames too, as Kron said. There are minigames, even LR only games like HG, which gets constantly done as well.
There is no good in between and it's difficult to please everyone with what you're doing in a JB day.

Final words:
Seeing as the times and nature of JB has changed since I initially started, I can see why persons dislike Simon Says.
It's a minigame which can cause confusion and if in the wrong hands could lead to persons doing big mistakes. You truly need a focus to play this minigame. Not only for the wardens and guards, but as well from the reds.
I respect the fact that Simon Says is a trick order minigame and that it could lead to some discussion/confusion (and maybe even in the future some reports for rulebreaking).

I personally would've voted to have it done as a regular minigame myself without the certain amount of blue's and with my additional comments made above.
I like the minigame and it gives a challenge to a regular day, but that's just me wishful thinking and the option to vote for it isn't there.
But seeing as most truly dislike Simon Says, I'll remain with the fact that it's not a liked minigame in this community. And in the future could a game of the past, never to be played again.
It's like me truly disliking FF on all day minigames or the Market Garden day. I know some like those minigames but I get bored/annoyed very quickly with those minigames. If spammed I'd leave the server for the day.

I'm voting to keeping it as it is and I'll stick with that due to it being the middle way of those who like or dislike this minigame.

I really don't want it to be unrestricted from LR only because I know SOMEONE SOMEWHERE out there is gonna do this every time they are warden and then a suggestion will be made to ban it and then people will miss it and then want it unbanned and then it just becomes a cycle. Making it LR only is a fair middle ground for me.

first reaction last reaction, disco, with Simon Says soon to follow. your kind knows nothing but strict; purged all fun in the server, and yet they remain unsatiated... as do you. you've taken everything from us, community. and now all that remains is FAIL. ROUNDS. /ref

Please don’t free one of the worst lrs known to man from its prison 🙏
