The warden had a terrible mic and I have mistaken the order.

I will admit the warden had a terrible microphone especially at first but there are multiple times afterwards in which you can hear him say to "go to the toad cell and afk freeze". A good rule of thumb to follow in the future would be to check with the warden before killing large groups of reds on an order you are unsure about.
