Due to a recent poll I would like to gauge opinion regarding a 2 year old suggestion on allowing unwardening.

I would like to suggest bringing the retire warden feature back to the jailbreak servers. This would function like such

• Round begins, first warden is randomly selected
• Said warden does not want to be warden, does !uw
• Any player on blue team can claim warden with !w ORsimilar to warden disconnects, a new warden will be randomly selected after 5 seconds

This could allow people with bad/no mics the opportunity to join blue team and in turn, give the admins less to worry about via mic checks or just allow people the opportunity to play blue without being forced to be warden. An obvious possible downside to this is there might be situations nobody on blue is capable of taking warden, few and far between in my experience however and in my opinion not a very strong reason to hold this down. One might argue there's also potential for "bullying" to occur and others encouraging certain people to retire from warden, this is already an unfortunate issue that happens today (except people just ask them to leave) and I do not believe implementing this would worsen this "too much."

The current cvar on the TF2Jail plugin is completely washed, so this will have to be a "Redux" based suggestion. Implementing this would also include some various changes to the current ruleset, but the jailbreak admins can discuss and make changes to this internally (If this suggestion is passed)

reminiscing other older jb servers that had unwardening and ud just have rounds where nobody picks up warden cuz theyre all just on blue to run around adn kill rebellers. it kind of sucks. and the entirety of blue team is basically just asking/gaslighting 1 or 2 guys to take up wardening so every round feels same-y

If you're about to go on blue without a mic, you shouldn't be on blue.

Microphones are a necessity for blue team for many reasons and without them the whole gamemode can easily crumble.

Ill be giving this a no. To be honest, if you dont have a mic and /or dont want to be warden, you shouldnt be on blue in the first place(if u were chosen randomly stick it with it or disconnect to give other the random chance of being warden).
If we add the command to unwarden, it gotta be atleast have a limit of once per map,similar to force warden 2 times per map limit (still can be bypass by just disconnecting and reconnect again but still).

Honestly I feel like I agree with everyone on if you aren't gonna be warden when you're given it don't be on blu. But I feel like then things go wrong since the way people try to get out of it is slaying which leads to it being freedays. I don't know if we will ever use rewarden outside of if a no mic unwarden but I feel like an idea can be considered. Especially since most of the time the blus with no mics will end up slaying.

I would keep it as it is, if the poll would be 50/50, I might suggest to allow people to slay aslong its before 9:30, this way people have time to rewarden but as a punishment they wont get to play this round. Instead of just unwardening etc etc.
Ofcourse you would still require a good working mic to be on blu team.

I feel like this would make a lot more people without a mic join blue, and make the first few seconds of a round with a warden who cant be warden wasted.

For me personally the "if you get warden you HAVE to be warden" rule is a large defining trait of Panda, and one of my favorite parts of it.
It means if you're on blu, you have to actually play blu. Many would prefer to just be on blu as to gun down rebellers with crits, but with the statis quo they have to at least be willing to go warden at random.
