I really would not appreciate people just spamming "bad idea" as this is not even a poll but a draft for a potential poll in the future.

The idea is a poll system for changing buffs of Inmates or Gaurds.
Not finalised concept, please provide useful suggestions or comments.

The concept:
1.After map vote a second vote menu will pop up
2.This vote menu could have 2-3 options (Look at green for potential ideas), all players will get to vote.
3.Once a option has been selected the next map will have the affected option.

Buff options:
1. Standard (No buffs/debuffs, this is would be normal vote)
2. Guards have mini crits instead of crits.
3. BHOP for full map rotation.(Value of bhop could be set to not make it insanely overpowered).
4. Scouts can double jump/Snipers get jarate/heavys have access to all food.


Alterantive idea:
Rather then this happening every map rotation there could this could be an admin only option where they initate it on their own accord.

Or

Could be a donor perk with limited uses where donors can initate the poll with a cooldown 24-48 hours


This is not a finalised concept so please understand.
I would appreciate if the replys were like actually suggestions rather then negative feedback to this potential idea.

Negatives:

I understand this concept would heavily alter the vanilla experience panda aims for which is why I am asking for ideas before even considering making this a poll.

This would also require alot of dev work I believe.


My personal comment:

I've tried to keep this simple to understand so my idea isn't miscontruded.
I understand the biggest herdle would be finding a dev which would actually be keen for this.
Please don't put negative comments/replys in the thread if you heavily dislike this idea just put a thumbs down or something (This isn't even a poll so wouldn't even matter).

The buffs section is just a quick idea of potential things which could be implemented.
They are not finalised but rather just draft ideas. I am fully open to reducing the buffs or alternative ideas.

I would like to say I think I got this idea for Zombie escape gamemode but have tried to make it more JB orientated.

If you like or dislike the idea just react, if you have usefull ideas or feedback please reply or comment.
 
So, i see you put thought into this and i've tried to read through it but you havent answered the biggest question that people will have.

starting off with something light;
a 2nd menu after map vote could cause a nice 10 min wasted failround because warden cant givelr after that goes away- i like failrounds but not 10 minutes of my life to be wasted that ill never get back!!!- and this is very likely, seeing as like everyone seems to want a successful round and cant seem to do it under 7 mins most times

ok now for the main point

as you pointed out, this will ruin the vanilla experience, but , it can provide an entirely different way to play (me personally : fuck that lol) that can cause for a lot of fun

this is vanilla, no biggie, definately will be the most voted (its like putting up jb_volcano against jb_mlcastle , come on now 😭 )


2. Guards have mini crits instead of crits.
mini crits is an amazing idea imo, but the balancing will be very bad with this as crits are there to protect Low player count blue team
crits are complained about (RIGHTFULLY SO!!) because theres like 10 blues and 20 reds
if theres lets say 5 blues for 25 reds, then crits are pretty justified, duhh
I think it would be fair to say minicrits are gonna be nice but will be of pretty much no help when the warden (14 year old slovakian kid who just hopped on JB (hell even some normal guy who likes jb as well would struggle )) starts trying to kill the 5 rebellers running at them


BHOP for full map rotation.(Value of bhop could be set to not make it insanely overpowered).

bhop will - no matter what- be always broken, even if the playing field is even its gonna be horrifically annoying to hit a guy zooming by in cells, god forbid a good spy main bhops over to the warden's back

well, scout doublejump we've had a debate about already

snipers get jarate feels a little random, it wont be very managable but hey, if pyro gets his gas passer, why shouldnt sniper get his jarate? they function similarly

heavys already get access to food already silly!!!

Ok now for my idea

instead of 120 from spy's big bad blicky from across the map, maybe a managable like 40? midway like 60ish and closer range 120
sniper instead of 150 (unless headshot) like 60 across map, 100 midrange, 150 close range
I dont know if anyone has talked about this before, i will look after i post this, and all i wanna say is the more i think about it, the more logical it sounds yk??

full disclosure, i aint coding this shit, this is just an idea i got while playing polish 100% crit server- those guys know they shit

It’s fun.





+To keep the game mode fun for regulars and admins.



One of my main reasons for suggesting this wasn’t to completely alter the current state of the server but provide more ways to play jailbreak.



Another reason why this is important is because I’ve seen a lot of suggestions recently get voted no because no one wants to play constant jailbreak with things like constant Bhop or remove guards crits.



People like the current state of the server because it is very well balanced. This isn’t a bad thing however it obviously makes adding stuff very difficult.



If people actually consider this it allows for temporary buffs/debuffs which only last for one map rotation.



I believe a huge incentive for admins and donators are the following:



Admins:

The main thing is if your an admin or trial you’ve probably felt burn out at some point, as JB can become repetitive.



I personally know this because I literally used to be an admin on a JB server years ago. I literally sunk hours a week whilst maintaining a balanced life and still got burnt out.



Why would it be good for admins?



To be honest it probably won’t fully tackle burn out however I can definitely say most of the community would enjoy it. I think if you can’t enjoy the fact that it will bring a few people joy its a bit dissapointing.



Honestly one thing that I really enjoyed when running a garry’s mod server was events as it brings the community together. ESPECIALLY OLD PLAYERS.



My idea wouldn’t be for events but if we went down the route of admin only to enable the vote it would be fun for the players as it feels like a unique opportunity and it is rewarding as it would definitely be fun because the players would get to vote for what they want.





For donors:

If we went down the donor route.

It’s literally just an extra perk.

I’m fine with a large cooldown so when a donor uses their vote it feels unique rather then spamming it every map rotation.



For the community:

I think from my standing it would more impact current regular players/regular players with declining play time.



I just think that when a player creates a not so horrible suggestion, its a bit depressing to see it just get hard voted no when its not a complete terrible idea.



I believe most suggestions get hard voted no because the sever obviously is not trying to be like BW/WonderL.



The goal of my idea isn’t to change panda but rather provide an alternative way for some “not so bad ideas” to be implemented.



There are multiple routes that this could be added. Such as admin only or Donor/Admin only. By this i mean only they can enable the vote. (The vote would allow all players on the server to vote).





I want to highlight that this would not happen every map vote unless fully thought through.



I fully am for just allowing it for only donors(with cooldown) or just admin only to allow the vote.
 
also i like the idea, i agree it'll keep the game mode fun, but its gonna be more annoying under common circumstances ; double edged sword basically, but i think its worth it

that wouldnt make it fair, but i see where you are coming from
the admin part is a good idea, but the donor one isnt- well, maybe it is cuz it will encourage kevin to get donors in and add an extra perk (he'll have to lock tf in tho)

An interesting idea I suppose, but I'm not a fan of any of the suggested buffs.
Maybe if the idea was made into some goofy thing JUST for First Round Freeday then maybe, but even then I probably still wouldn't be on board.

To be fair my main intention was just a way for more stuff to be implemented.
I talked alot about buff's because that was the main only thing I could think of at the time.
If you had ideas of fun stuff please do mention even if you think it's silly.

Looking at it now I think my main intention of this thread was just to have a pathway to add stuff to the server even if it is admin only.

I mentioned donor as well as just an idea.

I appreciate you actually replying, please feel free to add more.

I tried to highlight in my first point that I want this thread to be open to ideas rather then negative comments which I'm probably 80-90% of the people who read the thread have thought or wanted to say.

Yeah I will admit the donor part was a bit of a long shot thought.
I don't think the admin only part is too terrible of an idea tho.

I say this as people often ask admins to do "admin lrs" using custom commands or RTD effects, which is why I personally thinking the admin thing isnt to insane.
