To be fair, this is the deal with most things. I found both Mumble and TS3 a mess when I first tried them out.Just saying....I installed TS3 and I had no clue what was going on, I found mumbles interface is a lot easier to use.
I would say Skype is a more personal thing tbh.Why is skype getting votes?

Mumble is a far better alternative than the other two. Besides that, as Evo has already pointed out, 90% of the comp tf2 scene uses mumble so there is a greater chance that someone has mumble installed, rather than ts3.
