I've been in the planning phases for an XMF overhaul for a while now and while I am pre-occupied with a project I am more passionate about I am willing to divert some energy to an XMF overhaul/update (assuming the map is not removed, I'm not going to expel the energy now if the map is going to disappear in a week.).
Don't work on something just for us brother. Stay hyped on the projects you're hyped on!

I dunno man, I just dont like it, and most of the arguments for keeping it are, "Well acktually if the warden is fun, it makes the map fun, so we should keep it 🤓 !!1!" which, in my humble opinion, is honestly the dumbest argument I've heard in a long long while. That can be applied for literally ANY bad map, so only using it for maps you like feels sort of like you're grasping at straws to keep certain maps in.

If you like the map thats fine, and with "nostalgic november" maybe happening(?), we shouldn't let nostalgia for a map that has been virtually rotting to continue, its time we take it out back... unless semi makes a new version that fixes literally everything.

Coming from the person who wanted to remove a map with the most prevelant complaint being that its not true to its source material... sigh.

In recent years I've only voted to remove maps I feel don't allow creativity in the game play from ANY of the several game play types AND play poorly. The instacities of the world. Just stuff that seek out FAR too much and can't really make up for it in making the maps play well enough to warrant the creative stuff. Miami is the biggest example of this currently in rotation, but I feel that Miami is made well enough for some of the game play types that its faults become far less drastic than a map like Instacity. No way would I ever vote to remove a map the sets out to be what is essentially a madlibs version of a JB map. Complex would qualify but I feel that the really open backside to the map kind of ruins it. It is where I invented one of my favorite parts of the game afterall! Just get a little idea in your head and roll with it if you're on a map you deem "boring". It'll be eye opening.
And as for aztec, that map is just impossible to navigate. Sorry PFD. I legit didnt know the map had a disco/trivia area until the last time I played on it.

As far as XMF goes, I feel has this really interesing mix of serenity in some rounds and total clusterfucks the rest. Youll either have a decently enjoyable regular round, or a memorable disaster from the guards. Both are very worthwhile, especially since the map is NEVER played on. It's gotten like 5 plays this month, and one of them was because of this suggestion I would say.

I'll never be able to convince some people that this map isnt THAT bad because they are set in their way of thinking. I already got into that earlier, and I geniunely do beleive that to be how this suggetion started. A desire to get rid of a map someone has a personal dislike for, especially with the final line of the paragraph of complaints in the original post is 100% being a DIRECT complaint towards me and some of the people I consider friends of mine.

My thoughts on Galaxy.

I'm in the yes team for this removal.

So far the numbers of times I've had actual fun on this map can be counted on one hand. I'm personally not a fan of maps that are too easy to rebel / failround on and sadly XMF falls under that flag. The map encourages overly strict or boring Wardens in a way to fight what feels like an uphill battle for a sliver of a chance to give a RED an LR. So unless you're a particularly respected or well liked Warden you most likely will only see failrounds on XMF. Which considering the average amount of BLUs to REDs is like 1:6 or 1:5 in this community (not a jab, just an observation)... yeah sometimes you do your best and you just get outnumbered and there's nothing you can do and that's not really fun.

The minigames are weirdly spaced, hard to navigate to and from, and oftentimes BLU side is hard for guards to be able to defend or Warden to safely enter and be able to start the game while you're praying to wtv that a RED didn't sabotage the thing. Some ammo secrets are directly in the path of REDs going to minigames and can be difficult to manage on low BLU count in a full server... and that happens kind of real often on XMF. Hell, even the minigames can cause failrounds simply because REDs cannot finish them due to them being buggy or above the majority of players' skill level (major skill issue for that one btw... to myself included).

IMO, this map allows for no BLU creativity whatsoever, doesn't play well for either side and frankly... is not that fun. I don't mind waiting for 10 minutes if a round is entertaining to watch. But I see myself opening up Youtube to watch something for the 30-40 minutes of continuous failrounds looping over and over on XMF. I'd rather be on a Mario map and that's saying something because I don't like the majority of them. :T

Now i go night night im super duper tired. :😪:

Me when I hate fun and can’t make a map fun so therefor it is bad and needs to be removed.
Xmf is fine you guys just don’t play it right

On a more serious note, You’re imagining things if you think this is the worst example of a a”hallway map” considering we have a map like famous in rotation. The fuck do you want the players to navigate? Ancient mythological flying machines? Xmf is RARELY played and most of the time I’m the one who nominates it and head out 20/30 minutes into the map because it’s approaching 1 AM and I have class the following day and don’t want to miss it.
I’m sure if I were to nominate it at 7:30 PM there would be a reasonable player count through the map and beyond. And I swear the only times I’ve played on the map the failrounds are actually really enjoyable.
Not everyone finds joy in forcing the prison on a lockdown because a warden can’t give LR. A lot of people find joy in the way the round progresses into ending in a failround or despite all of the trials, an LR is given. Just becuase this map is a little tough to do that in in a few instances doesn’t mean it’s poorly designed and unfun. You just have a different definition of how to play the game.

I am of the belief that you don’t like the map for whatever reasons you have and therefor the nuisances that people’s enjoyment AND what problems it may have is completely lost if it slightly fits your mold of how you perceive the map and it defaults to being an enemy of the game in your eyes.

Also isn’t there an update being worked on rn? Would like to see that instead of it getting removed for problems it may solve
It is the worst example of a 'hallway' map, no contest. Famous gives you room to run around and entire sewer system to navigate, secrets inside of minigames that lead outside those minigames. Xmf gives rebellers no wiggle room as they are just funneled down tight hallways.

I'm going to play devil's advocate. I think XMF should be removed but I don't think it should be removed at this MOMENT. This suggestion could be saved for maps much more deserving of removal. Like for example. Servilive, Albany, Famous, Casuarina, Minecraft Nightfall, Underjail, and Crossroads.
Also all of these maps listed are objectively better than Xmf. Causarina is also snooze, but at least you get space to exist.

As much as XMF is not my favorite map, it is not bad enough to justify removal. Minigames are pretty solid, and I also don't feel the cramped feeling that a lot of players seem to here.

Idk if this is just me, but the map has always felt incomplete. Like, there was or is something that it still needs. Something to make it more complete. Might be because its just to small. It has a lot of potential in my opinion. Minigames are fun, decent secrets and rebel spots, but It just feels like it needs more. Compared to most maps, I think it's ok. Should it be removed? I can see argument for both sides, but instead of its removal, why not a revamped version?

I swear, megan will defend every map no matter what.

Keep fighting the good fight 🫡
there really isn’t a map in rotation I’m automatically a vote to remove for. If you make a great suggestion on a few maps maybe you could get me though. I just personally enjoy all our maps even with how jank some of the maps are.

Maps having secrets to navigate around a map doesn’t really change its hallway-ness to me.

But fair point on the sewers, even if it runs the risk of duplicating the problem and can easily encourage mindlessly running around while rebelling.

i love having reds go in the soldier cell and getting freekilled, so keep it

After a particularly bad war day on XMF, I'm switching my vote to yes.
