4 months ago, Kron made a suggestion for unrestricting Simon Says. A lot of people in that thread argued in favor of LR only. I personally find that to be the worst outcome for Simon Says, because now you're forcing whatever poor soul gets warden to try to do Simon Says involuntarily. I think this is where a lot of the stigma on the server and my current gripes with the minigame come from. Just unfun wardens being forced to do a minigame that relies on the wardens creativity to be engaging.

So here's my personal suggestion: I think Simon Says should be legal as long as there isn't an active LR.
I really like this idea because the server recently added a repeat plugin, and that feature only works when there is no active Last Request.
Given that most LRs chain back to back, wardens only have 2 forces, and most people don't wanna do Simon Says; I don't think it will become overplayed.

I want to see and play some more Simon Says as a red. If you dislike it, that's fair, but you could always, you know, jailbreak, rebel, more so than in cell wars.

I agree with this suggestion wholeheartedly- forcing a warden to play Simon Says usually just ends up in a failround if they don't actually want to do it. This would make Simon Says even less played (contrary to popular belief) as not many wardens would be willing to do it in the first place (and those that do would actually know what they're doing!)

However, perhaps an edit to this would be restricting it to 3 or less blues like Cell Wars currently is.

Would vote to remove it entirely but I know that's never going to happen. Simon says is just a complete juxtaposition to our no trick order rule and makes no sense to allow in non lr rounds.

This is stupid, just keep it as it is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Remove it entirely IMO, its either:
A) Normal round because people have 0 idea wtf to do with simon says and just do the most obvious shit ever
B) Wonderland level trick orders where no one gets to have fun and its a snooze fest of a round.
5% of the time its done right and its enjoyable, but honestly just save everyone the headache and remove it or restrict it to LR only/3 or less blus

With this logic we should entirely remove Pokemon Day aswell. A fair amount of blus/wardens don't know what it is and how it works, so should we remove it aswell? If some blus don't know what it is then explain it to them it isn't hard and also as the lr chooser you have the choice to choose and you take the choice of what the upcoming lr is. If you aren't certain that the blu can/will do it, then do something else. Also making it a normal thing to do will just result in a good amount of trick orders and well, we don't want that do we?

Removing Pokemon Day as Well......Sounds good to me!

So you want to remove custom lrs as a whole, because some wardens don't know how to do them? Sounds good to me aswell
Definitely not all custom LR's, that would be foolish, just the ones that end in 99% chance of failround or extreme round delay

Don't really want it spammed so 'LR Only' is my choice. It's okay every now and again, but I don't want to give lazy wardens another out to point farm on the yellow line.

It looks like this suggestion is close to maybe passing so It's time to throw my hat in the ring.
FUCK. SIMON. SAYS.
It's a giant cascade of things that that get you killed at the start of a 10-minute round through no fault of your own. First you have to hope that the warden knows to to play the minigame AND doesn't forget a single order at any point in the round, then you have to hope that the entire BLU team, some of which act like they speak English as a 6th language don't just go 'Oh this guy's not doing the same thing as everyone else, clearly they must be KOS instead of being the only one to know how Trick Orders/Simon Says works' Then you can pray for a moderator to be on and if they are on, being able to do A SINGLE RESPAWN COMMAND.

For it to pass "I'll allow it" would have to win a majority vote rather than a plurality, as the other 2 options are mostly similar.

You make great points for why I think it being LR only sucks. No inexperienced warden or blue knows how to do an ill-defined and underplayed minigame like Simon Says. This is why I don't understand people who want to keep it as it is. If it wasn't only LR it could be played by people who actually know what they're doing and the community would actually have fun playing it. This could also contribute to people learning the correct ways to format it and teach it to the poor souls who are forced to try it.

Again. If you like Simon Says, vote the top one. It won't be overplayed, or game breaking. Or lead to point farming, at least not anymore than what is already very possible from any blues who want to get easy kills.
If you don't like it, think hard, you might not like cell wars, or theatre, but to remove those minigames only hurts the game mode.
If you honestly think it's inconsistent with the rules then maybe just vote to remove it. But we have favoritism in theatre, start of the round ff in cell wars, first reaction last reaction in disco, and blues killing reds in Warday. The rules can be bent in the sake of fun, and I promise that many people find Simon Says fun, but if you don't then you should just vote to remove it rather than keep it in LR purgatory.

Yeah basically, it needs to be greater than the keep and remove options combined, which right now it isnt

I genuinly like it, but if its picked as LR, more than likely there is a newgen warden who has 0 clue on how to play it. Simon says can be and is fun when done right.

FUCK. SIMON. SAYS.
Both the clips william have provided show without a doubt why we should never. Allow simon says outside of lr. Once we allow exceptions to the trick order rule, reds have to start second guessing every single order, nitpick every word the warden says.
That is not fun. It is never fun. Nitpicking sucks the soul out of JB and removes any semblance of fun from the mode.

Both clips provided imo do not provide a good indicator of simon says as is played on Panda

I struggled personally to see any similarities between what is usually played in this community and the clips provided- the clips do not even have the proper intro or anything in them- they're just trick orders again with zero representation of how it is played on our JB. As a second point why were there not clips showing successful rounds as well?

Feels quite unfair having only one side of the coin (of which is not even properly represented) shown.
