Straight forward.
Make tauntwalking implied in crouchwalk Orders.
unless restricted by warden.
Removes the risk of potential favoring.
Guards never enforce it anyways so I think this is a nice qol change.

The entire point of the rules is consistency, we shouldnt be adding exceptions of the rules, clarity is key and leniency from guards isnt a justification to start wiping that away

not digging the idea of having to tack on modifiers to a crouchwalk order even tho i never give crouchwalk orders in the first place
if u want them to tauntwalk just tell them they can

most warden's don't restrict taunt walking or will openly say "you may taunt walk" i voted yes :)

Personally I'd rather wardens not have to clarify if tauntwalking is allowed every round- if it were implied then when a warden starts with his orders he can always add "no more tauntwalking" when going on about projectiles, lethal taunts, etc etc.

Absaloutely not. When I as the warden say crouch walk behind a heavy for example. I want the heavy to be moving at the speed that they usually would. Not zooming right up to me in a gokart leaving myself more vulnerable to being rushed by a group of reds. The fact that certain taunt walks are FASTER than a crouch walk makes this such an easy no.

Then you could just, say no tauntwalking.
It is such a good fix just think about it.
There are always 3 people tauntwalking.
Rather have the warden add 1 more simple command instead of 3 reds getting eliminated at the start of the round.

If it weren't for the victory lap existing then maybe, but as it is "crouch-walk" just means "crouch-walk" and it should stay that way to prevent confusion.
At the end of the day it's a small change that doesn't do much harm or hurt one way or the other, so it doesn't really warrant a change in my opinion.

I disagree.

Most of the confusion I've seen at least recently is people wondering why they were killed for tauntwalking (especially newer players). Allowing it to begin with and giving wardens that choice makes it clear to that player that may be new why they were killed. By far this is the most common reason people get upset/spam freekill in chat in my experience.

This seems less like a tauntwalking thing and more like you just can’t manage your reds

Not at all. When I say crouch walking I expect reds to be CROUCHING. It's literally just common sense. I should never have to say "no taunt walking" as allowing something that isn't crouch walking under the definition of crouch walking is so incredibly stupid and counterintuitive.

I don’t think this is a good idea. The reason that wardens ask people to crouch walk is so that they move at a slow yet relatively equal pace. The problem is that taunts move at different paces. There’s taunts like the go-kart which move at a pace slightly slower than walking pace, but there’s also taunts that are much much slower. It’s going to take forever for someone to conga over to a minigame or use demoman’s boat taunt to use an extreme example.

The problem with making taunt walking now implied is that reds will use these slow taunts like conga to delay the round and potentially troll new players into freekilling them. I think that this is especially an issue if warden is new or not paying attention, since an experienced warden will just tell people to catch up, but a warden who isn’t paying attention might just start the minigame without the conga reds.

A different possible way to enforce the rule is to allow taunt walking but make the slow taunts like conga KOS by default because it’s considered delay. I think this is probably a better way handle things but it still has problems. For new players who see others tauntwalking and use a slower taunt they will be confused when they are killed for tauntwalking. Furthermore I’m not entirely sure which taunts are technically faster than crouching and that might be a difficult thing for blus to measure.

All in all this is just a can of worms we shouldn’t be dealing with. If you’re a warden I encourage you to allow people to tauntwalk, if you’re a guard I encourage you to not kill reds for petty reasons, but the rules shouldn’t change.

As much as it is culturally seen that taunt walking= crouch walking on this server, I would hate to see someone get team banned because they killed someone who wasn't crouching as told.

sucks when someone abuses that it isnt crouch walking, but I've learned you just kinda have to suck it up... and kill the guy who killed you for taunt walking.

This just seems to add unnecessary confusion especially with new players. A new warden could give the order to crouchwalk and kill off all the folks tauntwalking. The influx of reports simply because “crouchwalking” wouldnt mean “crouchwalking” anymore is going to be crazy. Simply just throw on “No taunt walkimg” or “you may taunt walk as well” if you want them to taunt walk. Orders should be straight to the point and should mean what they mean. Crouch walking means to crouch, not to taunt.

I don't think would be a problem as it would still be counted as delaying as per the rules already state "Do not Detour or Delay as a Prisoner, Follow wardens orders as fast as possible." the latter bit "follow orders as fast a possible" is the thing to note here if someone was using a slow taunt to delay a guard can warn them for delaying or just kill them both would be valid and not be seen as a freekill from moderation perspective
