Declined [JB] LR idea: Saxton Hale Warden (2 Viewers)

When the player wins LR, the player gets to pick who becomes Warden Saxton Hale LR, Either they can choose themselves or another player like... freeday when you pick yourself or someone to have freeday!

So how it works:
Choose player = Saxton Hale as warden
No guards, its just Saxton Hale AKA the Warden and Prisoners

Warden Saxton Hale:
High HP but reduced from the original (1.5k-2k HP)
Strong melee attacks + Fast movement speed (no stomping or other powers)
Keep warden powers (can command/control prisoners)

For reds/prisoners:
Either Prisoners listen to the warden or you can be rebeller and try to take him down If you can!

Unless Kevin actually decides that JB#1 is going to get redux, this is not gonna happen.

Well ur right in that case...
I'll say instead LR winner picks player maybe system randomly vote whos going to be warden to whoever has the mic?
It's like spin the wheel but for players who only has mic!
 
Its a unique idea but i see multiple flaws regarding it, first of all selecting someone as warden/blue is already a horrible idea, since you can force a player into a position they might not want at that time.

I also feel like a round like this with one blue will lead to massive delays in rounds as reds can super easily run away and then proceed to delay the entire round.

This is how I see this idea:

Pros:
- The warden being changed and having different stats than normal is neat and changes different scenarios that would usually happen in a round
Cons:
- Some players might mistake this for the normal VSH lr
- What if the guy that won the lr picks somebody who is afk, has a bad mic or no mic at all? ( As mentioned by Eagle_Attack and Fairy above )
- Reds can rebel easily if they cooporate and just run at the same time in one direction ( since the warden is meele only )
- Saxton is meele only and doesn't have a long-range weapon, which means that in scenarios that would be usual for normal wardens, for example reds being told to afk on the yellow line, the saxton has to get up and close to kill those who aren't afk (and he also has a higher chance of being one-shot by spies backstabbing him or being rushed by multiple reds at once) unlike the normal warden who has a gun
- Rounds would be either long and boring or short and boring
- The warden having no Saxton Hale powers at all just nerfs him a lot and makes him more vulnerable
- I could go on but you get my idea :)

I see the vision but I think this idea just needs to be tweaked around a lot, I always saw the concept of a warden having changed stats being fun

No guards is a horrible idea, and no way are the reds doing 1000 or more damage to Saxton Hale.

I propose a different idea. Make the RANDOMLY SELECTED warden Saxton Hale with about 200-250 hp, and keep the rest of the guard. That way he's more of a juggernaut, but not unkillable.
Fully charged body shots and quick scopes wont do the job, but he can still get taken out but multiple people rushing or one mildly talented sniper. It changes up things without completely upending everything.

My only other concern are the maps. They weren't designed for Saxton Hale and his enormous muscles, and I could see a warden getting stuck in the cell area or even armory on an enclosed map like hop jb.
I think its an idea worth considering, but if not playtested could turn out disastrous.
 
Okay I'll admit the suggestions *were* different, but dude, just play VSH.
I don't wanna play VSH on maps clearly not designed for it.
Making Warden into a Saxton and alone just makes rebelling an inevitability, so yeah I don't wanna be stuck as Saxton in cramped maps against Reds with ammo.
Solid pass.

I dont even like the idea of a VSH LR, but I would prefer it over it being a regular day with warden as saxton hale

Giving the guards insane OP stuff and the prisoners nothing just sounds mad boring if you arent picked as Saxton.
 
As cool as an idea this is, there really are too many flaws that hinder it. The biggest one is what Eagle_attack pointed out: what if the chosen player doesn't have a mic or hasn't verified their mic? We would have to code the player list to exclude those who haven't verified their mic yet.

Aside from the points everyone has said already (PFD's 3 points, Eagle's mic situation, Fairy's general points, the long list of bird7th, etc.) my main 2 concerns is typed by bird7th:

Non the less, I DO like the idea of some sort of final boss warden, but it has to be then with a gun and health based on player base in my opinion.
 
I like the idea a lot (might be bcs i was a vsh player) but the execution at the moment is not the best and I'm unfortunately going for no.
