- Your name and/or nickname

Jackson

- Your age

17

- Who gave you permission to apply? (applies to applicants under 15 or those who apply for servers not listed in the "Available Positions" thread)

- Your Steam 32 ID (this is not simply a profile link. Look up what it is and how to get it; simply posting what you think it is that makes you seem unprofessional) My Steam 32 ID is STEAM_0:0:83890792

- Your general online times and your timezone

My general online times are from about 11 am to 4 pm or from 6 pm to 8 pm

- Which of our servers do you usually play on and wish to apply for? Would you visit a broader range of servers in case of a report?

The main server that I play on the most is the Panda Community Texas Dodgeball server but if I needed to take a call from another server if required to I will do so.

- Do you have a microphone? (This is a minimum requirement for Jailbreak admins)

Yes and I use it periodically to communicate with friends but it is broken at the moment so I need to get a new one.

- Your previous experience as Admin or Moderator

I don't have much experience with being an admin/Moderator on Team Fortress 2 but I can learn quickly

- Do you have experience with administrating with SourceMod?

No, but I do know what it is used for and what it does

- Why should we choose you to be part of our team?

I am a very active member I play almost every day I love the community and I love playing with my friends on the server but the servers need help with people stealing and other things which I will be there for.

- Finally, please briefly explain how you would do your job, e.g. a general overview of your policies and punishments.

I would only use my powers to focus on general rule-breakers such as hackers stealer’s etc.. such as if someone steals a rocket and it was not in defense I would give a warning at first if it persists a slay would be given and I will tell them what they did if they question me and a ban if it persists to a greater level. For hackers, I would watch gather information if I don't come up with anything I would ask a senior admin to help me out in my investigation to make sure the player is not using 3rd party software.

Stealing: Before banning the user (I would warn the user with a message and if he/she does it again a slay would be in order giving an appropriate message addressing the situation) after warning him 3 times I would give a appropriate ban of about 12 hours concerning if he was disrespectful or not then the ban time would consist and go up to 24 hours etc….

Blocking: I would message the user in the game chat stating what the player did and what not to do (This will be a warning) if he does it again it will be a kick with an appropriate message of what he did and how he can improve.

Orbiting past the limit: What I will do for this is use the command to slap doing no damage and telling him not to orbit for long periods of time.

Constant suicide: If it results in a TK: Team kill I will message the play via the game chat and warn him about suicide that it is affecting the game because it is killing other players if the player resumes it will be a kick.

Feedback -
Jackson is a respectful player, he never goes out his way to break any rules, and if and when he will take responsibility. He has been playing on TXDB for a long time, I could consider him a veteran player. Overall, I am going to remain neutral, only due to sessions. We may have 7 staff members at this time, I only see two of them regularly. If Jackson can prove he has the ability to remain active he could make a good addition.

Jackson is a very respectful player within the DB community. If he stole, he'd often apologize for doing so and do whatever he could to avoid the same thing happening again. As Prick stated, he's been a player on the DB server for quite some time, so knowing the rules and seeing how admins deal with rule-breakers is something he should be well accustomed to at this point.

With this app in particular, I'd like to ask if you'd elaborate a bit more on the particular times you would punish players for; I.E. how long (in minutes) you'd consider a reasonable ban for stealing, blocking, etc. I'd just like a general idea as to what you see as an acceptable punishment time for said offenses.

For now, I'm going to stand alongside Prick and remain neutral simply due to the session times you've logged. If they improve, I'd be more than happy to change it into a positive vote for adding you to the DB admin team.

This is going to be one of the challenges for any trial admin, is determining if someone is cheating or not, and placing the ban responsibly. Trials are required to gather video evidence through the demo recording system built in to TF2. After you have issued a ban on any player for cheating, you must submit the steamid and the demo evidence to your mentor, or any full admin, so the ban can be changed to perma. (The reason we need the demo is in case the user decides to appeal the ban.)

after warning him 3 times I would give a appropriate ban of about 12 hours concerning if he was disrespectful or not then the ban time would consist and go up to 24 hours etc….
Generally, ban times are not increased for player behavior, if the player wants to argue the rules to no end, a comm block will fix that. I've never honestly felt the need to increase ban times. However if you banned a player yesterday and they come back to keep breaking the same rule, you can issue the ban / comm without the same amount of warnings.

Blocking: / Constant Suicide:
Everyone administrates differently, so this method wouldn't necessarily be bad. Personally, I warn the player verbally through mic not to body block or teamkill. If they do it again, I issue a kick with a message such as, "Do not do that again." If they come back and play fair, then great, otherwise they may come back and do it again which is when I ban without warning.

Orbiting past the limit: What I will do for this is use the command to slap doing no damage and telling him not to orbit for long periods of time.
While there is a command for manually slapping a player, we also have access to a menu interface which allows the selection of a command and the user to target. Unless you can type at 500wpm, the menu would be better in this case :b

1st ban – 720 minutes
2nd ban – 1,440 minutes
3rd ban – 4,320 minutes
4th ban – 10,080 minutes
5th ban – 20,160 minutes
6th ban – Permanent
I already sent Jackson a PM about this, but you will not need to use a comma for commands using numbers. This will more than likely end up banning the user for the wrong time, or create an error which the command will not register.

The stealing and blocking ban times are identical, starting at 12 hours. Team-killing is a lesser offense, simply because it can be done by accident very easily, (afk manager, rtd, map death, fall damage, et cetera.) TK starts at 360, then 720...

The apps I've seen in my days are usually fairly similar to yours, there is only so much information you can obtain about ban times and punishments in general. These are questions you must ask the staff, or just browse through sourcebans to get an idea. Fortunately for new DB admins, I have a big fat text document full of useful information about admin duties, admin behavior, and commands + how to use them.

Lastly, two additional fields uncovered are comm blocks, and call abuse.
Spam in chat is defined as, but not limited to: binds, ajhyadfkjhgm, loooooooooooooooooooooooooool, etc
Spam in voice relates to screaming, noise making, using a mic with high gain, etc
You can also define chat spam as using the same bind, even if it's not immediately spammed in a short period.
Accepted time format for comm blocks, 60, 120, 720, 1440, 10080, 0.
Call abuse can be covered in more detail if you ever get accepted.
