I know this thread exists, but, it does not have a vote. It's a discussion more than a vote. Therefore making it kind of useless.

As the title suggests, I'd love to see the recent Vaccinator changes completely reverted, not only 'nerfed' to three charges.
I've made my disdain for this change very apparent, so I won't be bothering to go into great detail. The previous thread should put forward the general feeling people have of this weapon.

My request is quite simple, remove it entirely. A nerf will not fix the inherent problem with this weapon.
I cannot think of any 'nerfs' that will help this, so I'll leave that to the people that have another idea
 
I think it's clear the current uber spam mechanic is too annoying to deal with even if it's nerfed, however, I would like to avoid reverting it to a stock and still have it have a more unique purpose to give Medic a still different playstyle.
Current rework idea is this:
-Replace invincibility uber with only a speed boost:
It's clear invincibility is too annoying to deal with as a boss, a damage resistence wouldn't help much either.
So instead we could replace the uber invinciblity with a 2.5 seconds long speed boost instead, no invincibility no anything else, just speed boost. We can revert back the planned 3 bar charge meter with this. This should make saving yourself or others much harder while making it less annoying to deal with and removing it's "get out of jail free card" option while keeping it's fast support oriented playstyle.
-Allow it to overheal again.
Since we remove the stock uber, I think it's fine to bring back it's overheal. But I'm also fine with keeping it removed.

I think this weapon is needed to give Medic a different playstyle to keep it fun. I'm aware this might make it worse than stock but I'm fine with that.

3 or more medics if vip wanna join in and you got a team that wont die to the boss.
its a very bad idea.
i dont like the idea of giving medic a damage dealing weapons, he is a support class and not a dmg dealer.
 
3 to 4 ways of denying the hale the ability to kill someone whilst quickly getting it back is an incredibly flawed system since it's got high denial potential.
since some people are on the ropes about it being removed, despite being a garbage system which it is, it can still be savoured:

a proposal I have is mannpower upgrades on key buffs, a harder system to use but rewards the medic in question as a result:
  • Bullet resistance = haste buff
  • Blast resistance = shield buff
  • Fire resistance = agility buff
this would negate the ability for it to deny kill potential from the hale but this system would need looking into slightly, not in terms of sourcemod but balancing and would need to be turned into only being usable only twice to thrice at best.
 
I'm a little late to even comment on this topic but I finally got around to actually playing with the vaccinator and enjoyed it a lot. I'm obviously a terrible support so I mainly used it to enable myself to be super aggressive as a damage dealing medic juggling between the crossbow/ubersaw and uber. I think the majority of complaints against the vaccinator could be dealt with if the vaccinator uber only applied to medic himself, leaving the healed vulnerable (if possible). This way we could still retain a differing playstyle for a medic that could work both as a tanky/hard-to-kill healer and as a solo damage dealer.
 
Right, I don't usually bother to respond since the talking is done on Discord for the most part...
However, there's currently three different rework suggestions and there seems to be a very clear divide between all of them.

To tldr this:

- Stick to the removal of the weapon

- Speed Boost Uber:
Replace invincibility with a 2.5s speed boost, optional overheal, and 3-bar charge. Encourages riskier, aggressive support. (Skulls suggestion)

- Mannpower Buffs:
Damage-type resistances grant temporary buffs (haste, shield, agility), limited uses per life. Rewards strategic play. (Scoobs suggestion)

- Self-Only Vaccinator:
Uber only protects Medic, leaving teammates vulnerable. Enables solo aggressive or tanky Medic playstyle. (meve's suggestion)

If the CURRENT suggestion ends up in a standstill e.g. a clean split between the two can some Admin or whoever change the vote!
