Hey guys, so i recently wanted to install custom sound effect.
But when i download it and i unzip it to the file location it tells me to for some reason it just doesnt work.I did everything including the commands in the console. It would be really nice if you could help me out :), i really want a custom sound and also can you comment your own if you use custom sound c:

Need a bit more information, like what custom sound, a link, the actual location of the file, when it was released/last modded etc etc.

Where did you place the sound file? Did it have the correct file name and file extension?

All custom files should be placed in:
SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom

Make a new folder inside the custom folder and name it whatever you want.
Example: tf\custom\My_soundmod\

This folder acts like a .vpk file. Place your custom sounds here.
Example: tf\custom\My_soundmod\sound\weapons\sniper_shoot.wav
(Make sure that they have the correct file names and that they are placed in the correct directories)

If you want, you can convert your soundmod folder into a .vpk file.
Here's a tutorial on how to do that: http://tf2.gamebanana.com/tuts/11256

I wrote this kinda in a hurry, so ask if you come up with any questions.

Additionally, if it's just a hitsound it should be easy to find information online if it's not working, since loads of people use them.

You should read readme.txt in the tf/custom folder.

Yeah just noticed it's a hitsound.

Just place the hitsound.wav file here:
\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\custom_stuff\sound\ui\
