Hello,
First one of these I have made in a while. I have wanted to gauge interest on this, I wanted some opinions. I haven’t finished the idea, but it is a future suggestion I would make if this poll goes well, If an admin has a better channel to move this to go ahead, I just wanted a way to gather opinions. I’d like to just know if the interest exists so that I could start seeing how I could potentially put this in via plugin.

My suggestion is to create a different method on map pool. Rather than having one big one, why not split it up into 2-3. To clarify this would not mean each map can only show up once. My idea is to add the top maybe 5-10 maps to the map pool at all times, but instead have a cycle of the lesser played maps, shrinking our map pool, but allowing for things such as variants to be present without as much redundancy. If made into a plugin, we could also automate this process of switching, and add in stuff like a retro week with older maps. This isn’t all I have to say on this, but I’d rather spark discussion on it.

Could you elaborate a bit more on what other kinds of problems this could solve with the current system as I'm not sure "retro week" or having chretien playable for one week of the month is enough to justify the frustration players may feel when their favorite map is arbitrarily locked.

If people don't get the map they want they'll just rtv and reshuffle until they finally get hopjb for the 62nd time

It’s not solely to solve problems I thought it would let us rotate in maps that may not fit all the time. I was thinking a simple weekly flip back and forth. Having permanent maps and rotating between some extras.

The idea isn’t set in stone, that’s why I made the thread I just thought it’d be interesting for example to do something as simple as rotate Minecraft maps around, or famous, etc

the change could be as simple as keeping our current map pool on always and slowly adding maps/removing maps from the rotating pool. For example, in practice we have 3 map rotations that are all the same at first and slowly adding maps/move maps to each.
