I honestly do not recall gagging Sudden, I do apologize but I might've just been attempting to mute him. But nevertheless, it apparently was accidental. But, I might have attempted to mute him and I incidentally gagged him.
This seems unlikely as the reason was put as "Insulting players". You would not have put that reason for alleged mic spam.
But, there were a few times I warned him to stop mic spamming and he continued.
I do not agree with this statement at all. As an admin for 5+ years now, I understand the value of having a rule infrastructure and the annoyance of seeing players not only break the rules, but also ignore their warnings. When an admin comes on I do not ignore them. You may argue that point if you wish, but as your whole reply seems to be an attack on character in an attempt to save-face, I'm still going to chalk it up as a lie. Both
@Cryptic and
@Pricholas can attest to the fact that if they come on and say something, I listen.
So maybe that's where the issue lies.
No the issue is this false gag. Stay on topic.
I don't ban very often, so there should be a valuable reason as to why I did this. Either a mistake on trying to mute Sudden or I just incidentally gagged him.
Again, this seems unlikely as the reason was put as "Insulting players". You would not have put that reason for alleged mic spam.
As for the "False Ban,"
@Cryptic @Madact @Luigi123 @Kevin , I had ran into someone who had an auto-alias changer. I dealt with two hackers that day (Banned for other reasons, but confirmed hacking on another server), my bad for making a slight mistake. It being slight by the fact I accidentally banned him and moments later I mentioned to Luigi that I did this, whilst banning two hackers.
No comment, wasn't there.
Regardless
@Sudden , you've had the tendency to spam the microphone everytime I've actively been on, what says you don't do that when I am off? I am, to a degree, not really sympathetic about this purely because I have been incredibly lient with your mic spamming.
Below you state that mic spamming is "singing/beatboxing/talking for a long period for no reason". I do admit I have sung a few bars of a song on several occasions. And if you want me to be specific, I'd say exactly three times in total since I started playing on Panda servers. I did not know singing counted as mic spamming, and nobody has ever informed me that it was. It may or may not say it on that initial pop-up that players have to press 1 to stay on the server, but who knows? The pop-up kicks you so fast (or at least did when I started in this community) that a player never had time to read it. Just had to press 1 and play. I can see now on the forums though, under rules, that singing is mic spamming. Again though, I had never been told this by any admin, including yourself. Don't you think it might make sense to tell a player what rule they may be breaking and why it is they are breaking it? It doesn't make much sense to me to just ask someone to do something without telling them they're breaking a rule. That leaves them unaware that are violating a rule and that there could be consequences. But again as I have said above, I do not ignore what admins say (whether it's directed at me or not) because I know what it is like.
If I only gagged you once to the several times you've been on our server and spammed the microphone by singing/beatboxing/talking for a long period for no reason, then I think it's self justifiable. If I need to find witnesses I do not mind. I have two off the top of my head that was present on one of these occasions.
Again as I said above, I've only sang a few lines of a song on 3 occasions (not that this thread is even about that issue). I have never beatboxed on the mic. I do not know how to beatbox, I do not like beatboxing, do not make things up. As far as "talking for a long period for no reason", that's called a conversation. I know you prefer to stay quiet, but I like to talk to the people on the servers sometimes, as it builds friendships and a sense of community. Talking is not against the rules. I'm not making noises on the mic, I am holding conversations. That is not micspam. If you don't want to hear me talk to other players, you are more than welcome to click that little ear button on the in-game menu and client-side mute me. But I would recommend you not try and use "players talking to each other" as an excuse, because it won't stick.
Overall your response felt more like an attack on character than an explanation of your wrongdoing (whether intentional or not), in an attempt to save-face. I did not make my original post malicious in any way. I did not even hint at your actions being purposeful. I feel I have been more than civil with you, but I do not feel that your response was crafted with the same respect. I have made my case and responded to your claims (however off-topic and incorrect they were imo). I could have just as easily submitted this as an admin abuse report instead of an appeal. And based on your response I feel like I probably should not have given you the benefit of the doubt. In my eyes, a strong leader admits to their shortcomings, and in turn further builds the trust, love, and respect of those they lead. A weak leader makes excuses, assigns blame, and tries to cover their tracks. This in turn builds resentment and distrust. Regardless of who is correct about this whole situation, I think it would be wise for you to keep that in mind.[/USER]
