Declined [JB] Make Swinging Melee AFK (1 Viewer)

Guys I rebound my crouch key to my mouse, I can crouch now because I'm not using my keyboard!!!
Anyways, the afm removal was for easy to make accidental inputs. Swinging your melee requires a deliberate button press. While it might be initially confusing for a newer player to hear afk and not have melee swinging allowed. I see it as an overall non issue as they'll learn after the first couple times. Having AFK being more all encompassing helps with the flow of the round. Otherwise warden orders will devolve into the slog of adding in every single class restriction.
Like I get wanting to make it literal, but afk never has been. Otherwise almost every red would die because you can't be afk if you're sending messages in chat. There will always be exceptions to a rule and swinging melee being classed as non afk does little to no harm.

can someone pull up the blackwonderification of panda image because people actually voting no on this seems like you just want blackwonder 2.0

Yes because someone restricting melee swinging at the start of the round only to get killed by that order 8 mins later sure is fun.

Just
Let people swing their melees?
It amazes me that people vote on suggestions without reading.

This suggestion does NOT restrict wardens from giving the order "Reds no swinging melee". Meaning a warden can give this order at the START of the round alongside similar restrictions like medics no healing.

You can absolutely get killed by this order 8 mins later the same as you would if you healed as a medic and was restricted at the start.

So if this rule is implemented, that order is gonna be used a lot more as a substitution, and will also lead to folks dying because of it. I shouldn't have to say 2 seperate orders to get the point across.

1) Dragon Ball Fan Moment Sorry
2) Why don't we just say you can't restrict melee swings? Make it like AFM where its a illegal order

How would voting no on this be blackwonderification if voting no results in no change happening?

Both takes here are completely reasonable and it just comes down to if you want AFK freezing to imply no swinging melee, which I personally do. Yeah it reverses the meaning of “AFK” as it’s SUPPOSED to mean, but it’s the same thing with the debate that was going down as it pertained to no detours/delays being included in obby. Yes TECHNICALLY the order of “do obby” should mean you can’t just delay the whole time, but we don’t do that because it’s dumb as rocks.

This isn’t dumb as rocks, but I would just prefer to not change anything. Has more cons than pros in my opinion.

Honestly I feel that leaving the rule as is, is the best course of action. As someone who was thrown off by the removal of "AFM" goes to show the amount of people who don't truly read the rules. (I now make sure to check every now and again) But with a change like this, it would most likely go unnoticed unless majorly announced. And in my honest opinion, this change is not needed and would cause way too much confusion.

But to each their own
