a major overhaul of mario_kart_panda_v4a!
As mentioned in my previous thread the current Mario Kart map has flaws that lead to unfun encounters and strategies, as well as kind of encourage spawncamping. And since the server has not had a map update for over 2 years now, I felt like an overhaul could help the server. Not only fixing the flaws but also breath some fresh air in it and maybe attract new players.

I took the past week to create a version that is based on my experience with the server and community feedback.

I have removed the boxing ring and replaced it with a cozy outdoor café covered by hedges, they prevent a direct line of sight from one main access point to the other, add cover and props to climb against projectile spam. The boxing ring was a clumsy obstacle that was hard to climb and perceived as disturbing by the community. But don't worry, it isn't gone.
It has been moved to the disco!

It also is a proper boxing ring now, upon entering it you have no choice but using your melee and to prevent spectators from interfering you're immune to all damage but melee.
On your way out from the disco you might even stumble upon a secret or two.

A treasure room! But be careful, it might be guarded.

And for those who prefer a cozy lifestyle without adventures there is now a pool room to hang out in and listen to an amazing song with your friends. And if the song is not your kind of music, try beating up the radio. I promise it won't be mad at you.

Should you not be able to find those rooms immediately, worry not. There has been an earthquake and a fissure opened up. Of course you won't see it immediately either.

Don't be scared of the darkness, it hides a dank cave with eerie ambient sounds to explore!

Just make sure you don't get washed away by the water, but should it happen you might just reappear on the roof in the main world.
Of course it's not the only new way to get on the roof, there is now a random teleport that has 6 possible locations accessable through the skybox. Skybox you say? How the heck do I get in the skybox? I can't fly!
The answer is to look at the new additional spawn exits added for both teams. You will find a portal in spawn to get you there.

Now once you made it to the skybox simply jump down the pipe and you will be transported back into the real world and on top of the roof! Don't be too hasty though, who knows, maybe there is a secret hidden here as well?

Should the exit not be enough to help you against spawncampers, there still is the panic button. Featuring custom made textures, it will spawn 2 sentryguns for your team that last 30 seconds and have 5 minutes cooldown.

The map has been tested plenty of times. (And fixed plenty of times) It should not contain any major bugs anymore. Should you find one regardless, feel free to message me and as long as the map isn't added to the server already I will fix it asap.

-added water_lod_control (500/1000)
-converted some rooms to func_detail
Version z4:
-added missing nobuilds in spawn exits
-fixed missing models in the treasureroom
-reduced amount of chairs/tables on the roof, spaced them out and added a round hitbox
-changed hedge arrangement and height
-added arrows to second spawn exits
-Made secret rooms accessible with every class
-added more cubemaps
-added underground area 1
-added chairs to the boxing ring
-added more secret hints
-fixed barbed wire
-lowered light_env brightness from 300 to 250
-changed barbed wire damage type to blast
-added spawncamp button with custom signs telling the cooldown

Known issues:
-Shadow bug on hedge
-sounds have to be packed manually after compile

In consideration/planned:
Proper cover on the roof? Kiosk, little cabin etc
Old mario bros like underground DM area

The map looks great overall pretty fun to play on new mario kart maps once in a while, so im looking forward to it if it would get added to the server, at all.
 
With so many path ways, ideas, a basically kill spawncampers button, the fairness of the boxing ring, (which is actually a really good idea) and most of all, MY GOD THAT MUSIC ROOM! (btw plz add some daft punk mystery skulls madeon and hyper potion songs plz? k thx!) i think i would like this to be a actual map, breath of fresh air indeed!

Kevin PLEASE ADD THIS! (and hank hill too, that would be a fun boss alongside this map too use my ideas for inspiration please? k bye!)
