I just wanted to ask about the scout abilities in the jailbreak server. For about a month, scouts have been able to double jump on the red team. Was this intentional? I saw no warning or notification of it on the forums.
 
I think its a bug because the Jailbreak Plugin hasnt been updated. You probably noticed that blues dont have to use their mic anymore either to even join the blue team.
In my opinion, the double jumping scouts is fine tough. Scouts cant really fight in Hunger games, so they should have some advantage like faster speed and the ability to double jump. I didnt really notice that the guards had a much harder time containing them, nor that there was a sudden influx of only scouts winning.

I already noted it on the Admin forums yet I don't know or got any replies of what caused this.

Some people might enjoy Scout being able to double jump but this isn't what should happen on JB.
Scouts would have a major advantage over the rest over the team which is quite unfair. (Scouts is already the fastest Class)
The maps are not created for Double Jumping and Minigames are not a challange anymore. (Obby, Fallgame, Sweeper, Stairway to Heaven and much more)

We get to the point that it would be pointless to pick a other classes instead of Medic, Spy or Scout.

Aye, I understand. I believe the problem arose from the major server crash last month. The server went down for about an hour before correcting itself. I think that may have broken the server plugins. It has caused some balance issues as well as more guards without mics, both are problems that should be solved sooner rather than later.

each class has advantages and disadvanteges, scout has lowest health and really low melee damage for example. Taking the doublejump away is like taking the medics healing. Youd take a big part of what makes him good

Jailbreak maps are specifically made to account for the base jailbreak plugin. This means that some abilities were disabled by default; and for good reason. Spies cannot cloak, but it's also one of the defining features of a spy. By your logic, we should enable spy cloaks too. And about scouts having the lowest damage and speed, they have the highest swing speed, the highest running speed, and projectiles. That puts them on par with all of the other classes. Double jumping causes large imbalances in several minigames.

Yeah once again.
Double jumping is made for Scout for the normal gamemode to gain extra mobility.
We are now talking about jailbreak and Scout already has the advantage of speed what already makes him better compared to the other classes if it comes to minigames, double jumping is just adding fuel to the fire.
Don't forget that scout also has projectiles what is a clear advantage over the rest since none of the classes has anything like that.

There was no warning on the forums or changelogs since this was not meant to happen clearly.
This Thread was not a Poll to keep this bug in so Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
 
Though scouts are allowed to double jump, usually the warden has the right to tell scouts they can not double jump to speed up the round, it makes obby a lot more interesting to watch rather than see a scout double jump their way to the finish, it mainly gauges how good a scout can be without their double jump, I occasionally see a few whereas they can't strafe properly and they either die, or use their 2nd jump.

By the way, I have a question myself, if you do say no doublejumpimg, but a scout missteps into the pit and uses their air jump, is that considered doublejumping?

Alright, Double Jumping isn't enabled on Jailbreak #17 anymore.
