Hi everyone, recently we had a suggestion to revert the warden vote system to its previous iteration (which was the system we had used until early May of this year.) The vote passed in a landslide and was marked as completed. Except the plugin wasn't reverted at all. I'm making this suggestion to ask the admins to please actually revert the warden vote plugin to how it was before late May for real this time.
Old Thread: https://www.panda-community.com/threads/jb-revert-the-warden-vote-plugin.36085/
For those of us who have totally lost track at this point; essentially the old system was pretty simple. There were three commands that you could type "/wvote" "/wredvote" or "/wbluevote". If you just typed the command it would do a yes/no vote to the server or the respective team. Or you could follow the command with prompts and answers to make totally custom votes. These were also all warden menu options. Although this system was simple it allowed for total freedom for wardens to do whatever they want with their votes.
The system that had existed for the past month or so instead works by typing /wvote which now opens a new menu, and had three options, (yes/no) to reds (yes/no) to BLUs, or a minigame vote which allowed people to choose from a set list of minigames that were on a map (and occasionally some that not on the map.)
But yesterday instead of being reverted the system was changed again. Now in addition to the three options there is a player vote option (which I don't entirely understand, I think its a BLU vote for diner purposes but it is weird) and a new custom vote option which allows you to type a custom vote but only to the BLU team.
I don't think I need to go into a long discussion as to why the old system was better than this, see the previous post for that discussion, but really it comes down to the fact that we had so much freedom with the type of votes that we could do, and there really are useful reasons to want to make custom votes or call a universal vote. Furthermore the new system which requires us to type a command to access a menu, then select custom vote, and then type out the vote so it now takes three steps instead of one. It's silly. Truthfully I also think it's pretty disingenuous to say that the system will be reverted and then only give us a fraction of what we actually got from the old system.
Truly, if the admins and contributors want to try and add on to the vote system in the meantime with the new minigame vote or player vote that's entirely fine, but please just keep the functionality of the old system, and make the new menu something seperate. So long as we have those three commands "/wvote" "/wredvote" and "/wbluevote" back with their old functionality I think most people would be happy with that. Maybe this new menu can be accessed by a different command like /votes or something IDK. Just please give us back what we asked for.
I've still added a poll to this suggestion just in case, though I don't really think it should be necessary since this suggestion already passed last time. But maybe some of you like the new system they added yesterday, and think that works well. I'm interested to hear other opinions. Thanks!
