Declined [JB] Allow custom minigames to be played in cell area (1 Viewer)

Read the name of suggestion.

Mingle isnt official now but is allowed to be played in cell area. With this becoming one of the exceptions, why not just let all custom minigames be playable in cells and remove that rule.

Because we want more gameplay opportunities, for people to rebel, same reason cell wars isnt allowed as an LR

Wanted to point out because Banana, after requesting, specified on the previous suggestion for mingle, that Mingle is now banned in cell area, rendering it basically useless.

You can still play it elsewhere, but I still wanted to let my suggestion still be up regardless.

This feels like opening up Pandora's Box, but surprisingly I'm feeling a soft yes as I feel this breeds creativity.
There is a lot of protentional bad acting to be done, but it feels unfair to gut the creativity of others due to the bad acting minority.

I've played on a csjb server that allowed this, while it can open up some room for creativity it mostly just got used by lazy guards to do voting games like diner in cell area, which is quite honestly the opposite of fun. 99% of custom games don't require the cell area to function anyways unless you want to do something that requires a lot of cells I guess.

I don’t see the downside. I mean most custom minigames that people would want to do in cell area are banned anyway like FRLR and Simon says. As far as I’m aware if there’s an actual diner/trivia on the map usually it has to be done there (I’m not sure if this is an actual rule or not but admins tend to enforce this anyway) not sure if there’s any other boring games people would do. I basically see this only as a way to let mingle function since certain admins seemed determined to kill it for some reason.

As an alternative, we should atleast allow custom minigames in cell area if the LR dictates. This would mean that mingle can be LR.

You can do Diner/Theatre in cell area under the current rules.
We also already have wardens who do the closest minigame to cells until 1 red remains. Things like casuarina russian roulette or knife pit arena.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind custom minigames in cell area, because to me "cell area" is kinda vague sometimes. Like imagine bootcamp where it's just a whole open map.
There's also ladders that could be used for custom minigames, medic could be used, geometry in cell area, even other minigames like knife pit that are in the "range of cell area" could have uses. Honestly if you want a restriction maybe make it so that they can't be the first minigame played, but otherwise if I'm In a huge cell area like alkatraz I don't think that doing any custom minigames there should be banned.

i dont even see this rule enforced. ive seen opinionated theater stuff done in cell areas, and benchhopping in district cells would count too? i dont really know any great examples that i see today so if there is more examples/ actual enforcmenet id like to know what /when

edit when i say district benchhopping i mean when the reds have a time limit to jump onto the door then the building

I think that can be viewed as a "go to" order, not a minigame itself.

I'm not sure what kinds of custom minigames could played in the cell areas besides going to specific places or into specific cells but maybe people will show what wacky things can be done. It might lead to more unintended rule-breaking though if a warden wants to play a game they made up but is just meatgrinder or something with more than 3 Blus. It kind of seems like it could lead to rules becoming greyer or people making loopholes like the First-to-finish & Don't-start combo. So that could lead to more suggestions to remove or rethink existing rules.

But in general, it feels like it somehow moves Panda toward a similar path or style that I saw in Blackwonder or Wonderland? (I don't remember which closed) Idk how else to describe it as the sight of the chatbox being an almost illegible sea of colors and titles melting together.

So maybe yes? If it becomes a problem this change could always just be reversed or removed.
