I believe it would be fair to redefine mic spamming soundboards/music as spamming it for more than five seconds and thereafter spamming it continuously throughout the round to an extended level. It would make comedic effects possible without allowing for entirely disruptive usage of the voice feature.

Would not apply to voicechangers, that's a whole different subject, and I'm 90% sure it's (always) annoying and rarely serves comedic effect.

The issue I see with this is how abusable it is, as someone can play a 3-4 second clip, wait a couple seconds, and play it again, but try to pass it off as "Oh, but I didn't do it for more then 5 seconds". There's a reason micspam exists on discord even if they only allow 5-second sounds, it's best to just stop all soundboards entirely then allow small snippets.

Slayer's thoughts mirror mine. If we were to define micspamming as only anything longer than 5 seconds, this would definitely be abused to play 1-4 seconds clips over and over again with short gaps in-between.

I do genuinely think some soundboard uses can be funny but we were to ever redefine the rule to allow some leeway we'd have to make a rule among the lines of only allowing one soundboard use every once in a while, and good luck keeping track of that.

Completely agree, as they can be funny sometimes, but if this change were made it would be misused and exploited as people would do it over and over to a terrible extent.
Also if people do want to sing, or do a soundboard funny, or talk a bunch, Theatre as an LR allows for a bit of micspamming ( to an extent ) so its not like they have no other option.
Or even though this kinda borderlines the rules, just do it with your own voice, if u wanna do a sound effect or reference pop-culture its mostly funny when people do it once or twice with their voice.
As long as its done in moderation its a much better alternative then editing the rule.

We somewhat all ready tolerate this to a particular degree. Don't mind the couple of one offs. It can be funny if done right.

But people, especially those chronically on the internet, have the social cue judgements of a fish. Most of the time they just spam it or do it every time the round ends thinking it's funny.

It's best to when an admin warns you to stop doing it, you stop. Keep it rarely done or as the rule says, none at all. You avoid getting yourself blocked. There's an exception to the rule via theatre. You can make your lrs theatre if you desperately want to show just how funny you are via that.

This suggestion also applies to all panda community servers since it's the general rules. Haven't had one of these challenges to the mic spam rule in a while, so might as well let it run it's course in case another pop up close by.

better to just say no micspam than "you can spam for a couple seconds teehee" because the morons who think theyre funny will absolutely see how far they can get their toes past the line

geez i love having loud music blasted into my ears for 4 seconds.. and after that they wait 1 second and blast more music into my ears! and the funny part? it doesnt count as micspamming!:(
