The rank that is displayed has nothing to do with the amount of messages you posted.
There are so called trophies that you get by completing achievements, these trophies reward you with trophy points and those determine your rank.
The ranks available are:
New Member
Member
Active Member
Well-Known Member

Other than those trophy ranks there are following special ranks:
Donator -
Example
PandaBot -
Example
Trial Gameserver Admin -

On top of that there are "Team" ranks for the admins, such as "
Trade Team" or "
Dodgeball Team" though these are rather inconsitent.
