I have recently donated 5 euros through paypal. The only question is how will I receive the perks in game? Should I have put my steam name while I was donating in the information section or what?

Best thing to do now is add @Kevin on steam. Message him saying you donated, preferable with details of the donation so he knows it's you. Depending on how busy he is, depends on when the donation perks being added.
