Hello,

I've said this in a different suggestion as an alternative solution to engineer's special pads, And I'll make a new thread about it here, to have it as a separate suggestion, and also a better image.. or a background of what we're dealing with, and what would an appropriate management would be.

The whole purpose of this suggestion is to balance engineer's pads and it's outcome against the boss .

Ok, Firstly, what are the special pads? Click here , I've linked the old pads suggestion, so anyone can have a look on them, and what they do.

secondly, Stating few points, General, random, ups and downs.

- The Boost pad

The boost pad, is a pad that basically boosts movement speed for a very short time, Now many could argue that this pad is useless, I don't think it's useless, it might be less useful at most cases, but it still has it's uses, It's main use is rather in tight roofed, or basically small cornered maps, where obviously there is just roof, and you must walk it out, there, that's where they maaaybe get their use, So no, I wouldn't call them useless, they're just strictly used to a specific places.

- The Jump pad

The jump pad, is the main use here, way more used, way better, all in all, The argument lies around this pad.

- The problem of these pads.

1- Team perspective

The pads cannot be removed, I'm just not with this idea, as for nerfing, I don't think any nerf would fix such issue, because fairly speaking, The pads are really meant for a better overall positioning since the actual teleports are kind of useless, But in this FF2, Movement is not an issue at all, And that's because most of the mercs have movement, and not just that, but they're still taking the pads, making them have a better positioning, better chances at dealing damage, and just overall a struggle and overwhelming for the boss to keep dealing with a group ambush situation.

2- Engineer perspective

Now as I said at the previous point, They're not getting removed, Just for this matter, That it will simply kill engineer, Engineer is already so vulnerable, And really the most wanted every round, And it's a common sense to kill engineer early, the longer he stays, the stronger the team gets, Engineer players know that they're the target #1, And they have to just deal with that fact, and engineer should stay that way, he is balanced that way, so, having his really only movement removed, is a death sentence, His only other option would be using the Pomson, which boosts like around a one second, which is nothing, Pomson is not a mobility, Pomson is a last call situation.

Re-saying my suggestion, again, my idea was pretty simple, and very straightforward.

and it's locking the pads to engineer Alone, entirely, solely.

Having the pads alone for engineer, that way, most of the team got their own mobility, the boss is not overwhelmed, and finally, the engineer is not as easily killed as without the pads(Yeah he is still easy to kill, and it should stay like that, his power is in his nest/buildings, and he is the weakness of it, that's just fair).

Ngl you make great points, but locking the pads to engineer only seems absurdly contrary to his role as a support provider.

As much of a supporting class, I find it for now, The best change, sure he'll not support the team with the pads anymore, But overall.. His team effort is still there, whether it was for a Dispenser, Amplifier, Sentry, or? yea Keeping himself alive, to survive, Locking the pads is for his own benefit while the other classes can maneuver around this fact.

Our goal, is something in the middle, It's not easy to satisfy everyone, but we try and think of what options we have, For now, I think my suggestion is kiiiind of, fulfilling everyone's favor, Between engineer, and the boss, Engineer's little survivability, Boss's ability to deal with lesser ambushes, It's an idea after all, If it didn't satisfy the people, we'll simply suggest a reversal :), and Hopefully we would find a better solution at that time.
