Made this for the jailbreak community to feedback about the event.

Here is a couple of questions to help you all think about what you should feedback about:

What was good? What was bad?
Do you think it should be hosted again? If so, in November again? Summer?
What would you think we should do differently if it was to be hosted again?
Did you like that older versions of current maps in pool was part of the event or not?

and anything else you all would like to mention, feel free.

the issue in this event lies in the old maps and balancing towards reds .Example lies in jb_chretien and its really big issue in rebelling and usually leads to reds ending the round within 2 minutes of round start.

For everything else i think that maps like jb_wildwest requires some good blues the dead ends and the tight coridors lead to the warden or blues dying easily.
same as jb_bunker.

Rebelling in the old maps is quite easy and dealing with it as a blue requires you to know at least cell secrets and armory vents are.

maps like bootcamp and wip didnt have that issue .
for hopjb rebelling is just hard cause of the lack of ammo spots.

i think it should be hosted twice a year once in novemeber obviously its called Nostalgia November after all, and once in summer as we would have alot more players due to summer break and alot of people being off work.

i think the only minor issue was in the maps selected i think some maps wouldve been played more if it was the newer version like bootcamp. alot of people asked for the newer version instead of the one used in the event

There were a few blunders I felt that you all made with your votes. Primarily with how the maps were added, but also because half the map choices were actually the WORST choices you could have made. Maxsec would've been a better choice than bunker and spy vs spy. And maxsec sucks!

But I felt that because the vote was heavily in favor of just adding the maps into the map pool, there ended up being a huge disconnect between forum regulars or people in their little friend groups on discord and those who just chill out and play Jailbreak whenever they can without interacting with the community outside the game. There are plenty of those people, and I found that a lot of them were loudly against playing on the older maps because they werent fun. Even complaining that we'd even add them into rotation. I would try to explain that its a temporary event, but I was getting ignored because Jailbreak players absolutely thrive on negativity sometimes.

I would much rather everyone had voted to have admins come on and switch the maps be what happens. Admins can still have the players vote in game on if they even want to go to an old map to begin with, as well as voting for the specific map that people are feeling. Those 100% are commands that I know can be done.
And it leaves everyone on the same level of understanding that being on a map like Wildwest in 2025 would be a temporary event and everything will return to normalcy.

Overall I feel like the event was a success at doing what it was supposed to do; allow us to replay maps we removed because they played poorly and making us remember why they were removed to begin with. I believe we could try again next year. However, if we decide to have a summer variant as well, a week would be more than enough. That goes for the one in November as well.

I'm siding with British on not doing the older version of maps that are already in rotation. They were fun to revisit but it did confuse a lot of the non-forum players as to why we would have the outdated version of Hop instead of the new one. And like Mehgend said, trying to tell them it was a temporary event just fell on deaf ears. I agree that communications with the people that aren't on the forums were poor. I don't know if we could have added a message in chat the same way we advertise the radio (that still doesn't work AFAIK)..?

We can try having admins come on and vote for a map change next time (if) and see how it feels. But what I didn't like about that option was the need for an admin to come on and manually change the map every time. Seeing as I don't really want to force admins to be on almost 24/7... yeah. That was why I preferred just temporarily adding them back to the pool and leave it to the players to vote on them.

As for the map choices... they were alright. SxS is SxS. Chretien was lovely to revisit (even if empty as hell the Wardays were fun). Old Hop my love (just for the Deathrun). Wildwest played like it always did (failround galore). Those were my most memorable maps from the ones we played on.

i cant really explain in detail too good what i didnt like, but im just gonna say i didnt like having recent maps that were removed back like spy vs spy, wip

i also dont like chretrien and old hop

but i liked wild west
