During the end of the round and LR is being given, allow the Warden to decide with a warden vote if people wish to deny a LR that was chosen given it fits the following criteria:

- Has been the same LR as the previous round, not the current round
------ If the current round was HG, the recipient can still request another HG, however, the next round when LR is given it cannot be HG again.
--------- I understand that this will be hard to ensure that it is properly moderated, however, I believe at the least this would be a good middle ground to at least allow LRs to occur back to back at the minimum.
- It doesn't matter if it was HG no rules and then the new LR is HG, at the end of the day its the same LR at heart.

If it falls under this criteria, the warden would simply /removelr and then /givelr all over again and allow the recipient to chose a new LRKeep in mind that this doesn't only affect HG, it can also affect HnS chains, do x minigame chains, and so on. It allows at least more unique gameplay per map rotation as opposed to the same stuff every other round.

Why would we give the power to deny an LR to one single player? You are asking for someone to be annoying about it.

Entire server could be having a blast but some random guy could just say “nah two is enough” and refuse. Custom LRs is soemthing that would need to be a hard cap or no cap.

How about we give the cap a grace period in between like 2 hgs. Then follow it up by three regular rounds and then ppl can do hg again
 
I've been initially against this idea but I've come around to not liking every other day having FF enabled. I don't even think it's an issue with the new regs being shit - lr chaining has been a thing for a long while now - but i now believe chaining LRs kills the vibe of the server and makes me just want to go do anything else besides JB.

I think it would be easier to make it so the warden has the option to deny the LR if it's primarily a repeat of the previous round (so you can't go from "hide n seek" to "hide n seek indoors only," for example, so modifiers aren't used to circumvent this rule). This would be much easier to prove in a report and enforce, otherwise you're asking regs to have to constantly record/screencap every finishing round with a custom LR on the chance they'll need it for a report.

It's important to note that we currently have a lot of existing mechanics that are give to the warden that are extremely annoying.

IE Last day warday, a blue always spamming !w just to get their easy points

regardless, I do believe that it's a matter of having more variety in gameplay. Sure you're having a blast doing LR chains, and that's 100% fine, however when a map has a lot to offer and we repeat the same LR over and over again, at that point we should just create Melee-only servers and play on there. I believe Custom LRs to be the best mechanic in jailbreak but from what I've heard and understood from a variety of players is that its consistently abused and just isn't fun having to do the same thing over and over again.

But neither of those directly deny someone’s earned last request in any way nor do they effect the next round.

If you win an LR, then you should have total free range to do what you like. If you want to cap it then hard cap it. Giving one person the ability to cap it at their free will is silly
 
i was vehemently against stopping lr chaining, but in the last week or so a few individuals have been teaming in hg with the express intent of making the hg lr chain go on as long as possible. its just boring when you do this every single map for days. stop.
 
I don't wanna name names yet but it's very obvious the reason why we're even having this discussion is because of a select few bad characters. I like the idea but I still suggest we add a grace period before the custom lr becomes available again

a few bad actors shouldnt ruin the most fun lr option for everyone

Just make it so you can make a vote to continue lr chains. If most people on the server want the lr chain to end they can vote and warden must obey the results of the vote.
I requested Nergal to update the post with this in mind. I believe this will be more appealing to all.
 
given the play this past week the most common LR used is HG in some form this kind of chaining does need capping because most maps are simply not played to their full due to the same LR aat heart being done to death.

If I'm going to be honest, most Hunger Games/FF chains I've seen over the course of my time here are from one RED winning their LR over and over again rather than all the REDs wanting to do Hunger Games again. When that's the case, the best course of action is for a group of REDs to form a team and attempt to take down the LR winner to end the chain.
 
As a person who participates and requests LRs, Warday @ this location, Hunger Games No Rules, Climb Backwards, Obstacle Course facing Backwards.
It is annoying that people does LR chains such as HG, or Climb backwards. Not naming names but, Some regulars keep the chain going by doing something that only they can do. Let's say Climb Backwards (Water is KOS), that one person can easily get lr and can redo the same LR, causing the regular person hopping on the game of JB and not get LR at all.

Causing them and current players to be pissed off and eventually log off the game, So letting there be a cap of the amount of LRs in a row, lets the regular joe be happy, and let the game of JB keep on going. Its just doing the same LR is boring overall.

Instead of complaining about LR chains why don't you find a way to stop the person from winning the LR and strategize with your fellow RED teammates and find a way to kill the RED constantly getting the LR? (Honestly sounds like a skill issue) ;) :p
This isn’t only about HG, its in regards to all custom LRs in general.
 
With it being made a warden vote, if the server wants it, it can still be preserved.
It's a fair compromise that takes little away and doesn't give too much control to the warden.

What is proposed is a small non-intrusive check that I think most can get behind.

It doesn't limit creativity like my prior suggestion, and creates a small stop-gap for bad actors.
