Declined [JB] Consider non-looping taunts as AFK (1 Viewer)

The chokehold that a fly that doesn’t even speak in game has on y’all is crazy.

Even as a 13 year old noob I was able to grasp the concept of AFK taunts vs non AFK taunts. It’s not really that deep

Wardens ban taunting in one way or another all the time in game, I really don't see how it is that big of an issue to make them say "No lethal taunting from now on".

3. (...) A lot, and I mean a LOT, of REDs I've seen actually believe non-stationary looping taunts to be AFK and tend to complain if they are killed for it.
is this another rule that clashes with other servers?

anyway, ill be voting no because as stated above, constantly pressing G to do a non-looping taunt just isn't afk.

(silly:) what we can also do is just outright ban taunting, problem solved.

Idk man I feel like if we make this a rule and wardens then want to stop people from doing these taunts to prevent delay they will pretty much have to tell reds to not taunt. I think it’s unrealistic for wardens to say something like “afk freeze no doing non-looping taunts” that just seems like a weird confusing order. I don’t want to force wardens to restrict taunting so I’m voting no.
There are long looping taunts that people take a decent amount of time to stop and start as well. Think about William and his dueling banjo. Realistically I don't think this is gonna lead to that much delay.
AFK means away from keyboard, if I’m doing a non looping taunt that means I’m pressing buttons on my keyboard repeatedly and not afk.
In the current rules I'm pretty sure you are allowed to taunt and untaunt as much as you want as long as it's a looping taunt. So In my opinion this suggestion just makes all stationary taunts fair game.
Just change the term “AFK” to something else, because at this point afk doesn't even mean “away from keyboard” anymore
Given that you are allowed to use voice commands and taunt at all, I'm pretty sure at this point stationary taunts should be considered afk, since you are restricting your movement by doing so, which standing still is the most important part of an AFK order in 90% of cases(since we aren't a trick order server). Though I understand your sentiment.

guys this is as it is currently and this is as it should be

un-taunting and taunting repeatedly isn't afk, has been like that for years even if the rules specifically doesn't state so. you're still using the keyboard

this suggestion is kinda weird, I see no point of removing something that has worked for years. Taunt are just for showcase, if you don't have an afk taunt then it is what it is. it doesn't change jb experience but implementing the suggestion will

Voted yes, don't know why people are being picky over this when the solution is so simple. You're worried about Heavy taunt killing? Restrict lethal taunts or just get better at paying attention.

Besides, technically speaking, in order to perform an "AFK" taunt, you still have to interact with your keyboard. Does it really matter if it loops or not? Or are you just afraid of 15 scouts simultaneously saying "BONK" at the same time on the line?

But why shouldn't every taunt be an AFK taunt (barring moving ones ofc)? It seems more like as a collective we are resistant to any change rather than actually voicing why we don't like this specific suggestion. Is saying the words "From now on no lethal taunting" that big of an issue for people?

clearly you haven't played blue

i have no problem with taunting and i understand the suggestion but i see no reason to keep changing what AFK means. we need to at some point come to an understanding on what it means to be AFK (which we already had) because the more suggestions we get like this its starting to not actually mean anything. AFK taunting should be non moving, looping taunts that require no input other than to activate, this is understandable to most people so why the need to change it?

I don't mind if it changes or not but it'll just kill the word afk and confuse some players. found out un-taunting and taunting (looping taunts) is legal despite not being afk (an example of changing the meaning of afk), but i do understand now that making non-looping taunt doesn't change anything when it comes to restricting reds movement. still feels unnecessary tho

I got unguardbanned recently and have been playing nonstop Blue. I know how annoying heavy lethal taunts are, but they're also funny. It also doesn't take much to see a heavy lethal taunting and marking them KOS if there was an order not to.

Forgot I never commented on this suggestion;

No.

As it stands I find a lot more people are confused when they are killed for using a non-afk stationary taunt than I think we would ever see if the rule was changed. In my opinion the only people that would be affected by this change and might be confused for a couple of days are the regulars who play often. More than once has someone started with "???" or "freekill" when they died for what we consider a "non afk" taunt, even though if you were to start then cancel looping taunts it is literally the exact same thing keybind wise.

i mean when it comes to afk orders it should really be self explanatory, do not use keyboard with the exception of starting a taunt. So i don't really understand why they would be confused but anyways this isn't something i would bother killing for, we got jump crouching reds everywhere and they dont die

and ye its kinda the same
