Hello there, pandas!

I decided to make an updated thread on how to play on each server, originally posted by Electrod, sincere thanks to him for coming up with the idea. This updated version includes a few awesome stuff.

In this thread you will find;

•How to get started on each server, learning the basics and knowing the rules.

•What servers there are and how to connect to them.

I wanted to get this started by adding all the different server types and even additions to those.

Note: some servers do not require specific rules, but instead the general rules. The full rulebook can be found here: https://www.panda-community.com/threads/gameserver-rules-12-14-2014.3409/

Panda-Community.com TF2 #01 [RTD|gameME]

Ever felt like battling it out on a server? Have you ever felt like you need some effects to it? What would you say if I said you could have a random effect such as random crits or being ubered by just typing “RTD” in the chat? Amazed?

RTD (Roll the Dice) is a gamemode for TF2 that has been existing for an extremely long time (2008) and really captures fun moments with TF2. What is really fascinating is that you can get any random effect, good ones or bad ones, and it can be used towards eliminating other players... or even yourself! Now, another fun addition is that Panda has customized it to be a Duel server, meaning you are dueling people WITH random effects. Now, that’s what I call a gamemode! Anyways, now I want to explain a few stuff to how you play it.

As a player, you are allowed to type “RTD” in the chat and it will grant you a free effect, anything at all out there in the TF2 Mods and TF2 world. But, there are not only positive effects, as there are bad ones too. But don’t worry, it’s not like you would explode, be slowed down, get frozen, get low health, aqcuire nostalgia, get a big head or experience an earthquake now right? Well, that’s exactly what can happen. However, the chances are still slim as there is actually more good effects than there are bad effects. But isn’t it unfair, couldn’t you just RTD every single time and get all those good effects? Not at all, RTD has a counter to it to how many times you can do it. Usually ranging between 20-100 seconds. Not much more to say about this gamemode rather than good luck and get on going with those effects!

Rules for this gamemode:

  • No rocket- or grenade spamming. This means standing next to a resupply locker and continuously shooting rockets (or grenades). This includes a repeated action of moving away from the locker to empty your clip and then coming back without having to reload let’s say more than one or two projectiles.

  • No Sniper camping near a supply locker.

  • No close quarter sticky traps. This is defined as putting a sticky trap above or under a window or right around a corner in a hallway where they are too hard to see and counter to be deemed fair in a small map with little options like this one.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #02 [War3Source|gameME]

Bored of all those classic TF2 public matches? Want something that will encourage the gameplay a little bit? Did you know you could aqcuire experience points and reach a certain goal to get better skills? No? Well then...

War3Source, commonly known as War3Mod is a gamemode based on the game Warcraft 3 (released way back in 2002 and 2003 o.o). It focuses on acquiring better skill in different “races” as it’s called, and the more you level up the more you gain control in battle. There is two different passive skills; the ability and the ultimate. An ability is used through typing “+ability” in your console (F10 or any other binded key if you’ve binded it) and to use ultimate you type in “+ultimate”. Note that every race does not have a +ability option, but every single race has a +ultimate option. With the gold you get from killing players, you can also buy new items in the store that comes with War3Source, where you can also increase certain passive skills with small buffs, i.e; movement speed and damage. However, only 3 items can be held at once and they last for one life.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #03 [Jump|gameME]

Ever feel like you want to just jump on TF2 and feel like winning through it? Well, however weird that is, you can do it!

Jump Mode is a TF2 custom mod that is designed for the skill of jumping. In the Panda Servers your goal is to get to the finish with your team, the first person to finish is able to give a point to his/her team. Depending on the maps, you need to use different TF2 characters. This is a pretty simplistic gamemode and does not require much more explanation.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #04 [Dodgeball|gameME]

Panda-Community.com TF2 #19 [Dodgeball 2|gameME]

You must’ve liked Dodgeball back in the school days, right? Maybe you even still play it? What if I told you that you could play Dodgeball in TF2? Impossible? Not at all!

Dodgeball is a very fun gamemode that tests your perception, reaction and dodge abilities. Techniques are very much required. You auto-spawn in as a Pyro on a team, your goal is to defeat the other team. The actual ball is a rocket which you have to blow away to the other team (MOUSE2). The rocket is homing and will reach you eventually, when it does your goal is to send it back to the other team and destroy them! This gamemode is pretty simplistic and does not require much more information. My tip to you: do NOT let your eyes wobble away from the rocket, even how amazing that unusual might look on the player to the right, you HAVE to focus!

Rules for this gamemode:

• No rocket stealing or attempting to steal rockets. Only blast it when you get the sentry noise, unless you absolutely have to save yourself from dying. This does not include standing still and when it gets close blasting it. Additionally, going over to the enemy side is an own risk you choose to take. If you do not leave your enemy enough space and they have to steal, it’s not their fault; it’s yours. When an enemy gets to your side, keep in mind that this is not forbidden in itself and is something you have to accommodate for.

• No blocking; leave space for others. What is defined as blocking includes:

- Getting too close to an enemy and blasting the rocket right when they blast.

- Standing right behind an enemy and blasting the rocket right when they blast.

- Not giving your teammates or your enemies enough space and getting up close all the time.

• No orbiting for too long

  • No continuously suiciding to give a teammate the rocket by surprise. This is included in our general "no griefing" rule but is added here to make it absolutely clear.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #05 [VS Saxton Hale|RTD]

Ever played a game where there is a player who has a ton of health and you are a team who tries to kill that person? This is EXACTLY that!

Versus Saxton Hale (VSH for short) is a gamemode that has existed for a long time. The main focus of the game is to kill the Saxton Hale and survive! The Saxton Hale is a random person chosen from the RED team to be a BLU Saxton Hale. You can also play as the Horseless Headless Horseman! As you also have a chance to become the Saxton, you probably have to know how to work with that, right? Well, all you need to remember is SMASH THE HELL OUTTA THOSE SMALL LITTLE TF2 CHARACTERS ON THE RED TEAM! Also, try not to go all-in, that’s when you get shot by snipers while being hit by scouts, shot by heavies, soldiers and backstabbed by spies.. let’s just say it’s not a good idea. Find your strategy and work with it! As a RED team member, you have to kill the Saxton that’s your main priority. Now, ONWARDS WE MARCH TO VSH!

Rules for this gamemode:

• No camping as the Boss.

• No teaming. Do your damage and don’t waste time.

• Join team Spectator if you need to go AFK.

Demonstration:

Panda-Community.com TF2 #06 [Hightower TDM|gameME]

Panda-Community.com TF2 #10 [Hightower TDM 2|gameME]

Ever played the map Hightower on TF2? Have you ever thought “Damn, I wonder how this map would’ve looked without all those engineers with sentries and the payload cart..” WELL, THIS IS EXACTLY THAT!

Hightower TDM is a gamemode that focuses on a normal team deathmatch where the goal is to win over the other team. The beautiful things about it is that there is NO engineers, NO cart just a free roaming Hightower where you just have as fun as possible. Ready for this? Well, yes heck you are. Note though that Hightower TDM is usually for those who are really experienced and feel like they need a challenge, so GOOD LUCK AND LET’S DO THIS!

The rules for this gamemode:

  • No spawncamping.
  • No reverse spawncamping.
  • No staying in spawn with a group of people if that group of people exceeds a certain percentage of the team.
  • Use trade chat ( not using it annoys regulars ).

Panda-Community.com TF2 #07 [Mann vs. Machine]

Panda-Community.com TF2 #15 [Mann vs. Machine 2]

Just your average Mann vs. Machine gamemode. Difference: IT’S ON THE PANDA SERVERS!

Mann vs. Machine is a gamemode designed for killing robots that are exact copies of the TF2 characters. I am pretty sure you already know about this gamemode as it is an official TF2 gamemode, and since there is so much to talk about I will stick to just saying; KILL THOSE DAMN ROBOTS ON THE PANDA SERVERS BECAUSE THEY ARE ONE DAY GOING TO TAKE OVER!!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #08 [Class Warfare|gameME]

Ever thought “Why for god sake don’t we all just go as Scouts and win this friggin’ CTF already?” WELL, now you CAN!

Class Warfare is a gamemode that can be a LOT of fun. It is based on one team having being able to play as one class, and the other team as another class. It has no affection to the standards of TF2, just messes a little bit with the class choosing. You can play any map andany gamemode, and there is no extra rules you have to follow except for the general ones.

NOTICE: The gamemode can be buggy at times which might require you to restart your TF2.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #09 [Deathrun]

Panda-Community.com TF2 #22 [Deathrun 2]

Ever wanted to just take a run and escape some traps? That’s exactly what you can do in Deathrun!

Deathrun is an awesome gamemode that was designed to test your techniques, strategies, perception and much more! Your goal as a Runner in Deathrun is to reach the end of the map and win the game. But, it’s not as easy as you think! One person is chosen to stop you from doing that! That person is called the activator (sometimes referred to as the Hale or Saxton), this person is the person that activates traps as you and your fellow team members progresses through the map. The activator’s goal is to kill the runners with the traps and hopefully win the game. There is tons of different maps with tons of different themes, hopefully one that fits you well! Now, let’s stop wasting time and get that running done!

Demonstration:

Rules for this gamemode:

• No delaying the round. You get 7 minutes per round and you may utilise that by taking a bit of time at difficult pieces, but keep a move on.

• No continuous favouring of certain people. This means not killing certain friends and letting them run free.

  • Do not use the bunny hop to skip traps.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #11 [Surf|gameME]

I bet you have sometime felt “Wow, why can’t I just take it easy for once and just go surfing? Well, you can BASICALLY do that!

Surfing in TF2 is not really a gamemode or a mod, it’s a skill. As a player your goal is to win maps to be able to progress and your helping hand: surfing. There is these things on maps called “ramps” where you basically have to jump on and once you slide/surf on them, you will reach a high speed and eventually go flying onto the next one, which makes it endless and makes you able to jump from point to point faster than normally from the acceleration. Not much more to say here other than LET’S START THAT SURFING!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #12 [Slender Fortress|gameME]

Alright guys, I feel the need of playing Slender, see ya! Wait, Tony! Haven’t you heard? You can do that on TF2 now!

Slender Fortress... A gamemode designed for those who do not have weak stomaches and wants to go to bed safely at night... NOPE! Just your average Slender TF2 gamemode! There are two teams: Humans (RED) and Proxies (BLU). The main objective of the Humans is to collect the number of pages that are scattered throughout the map. Once all pages are collected, if the map allows, the player's team needs to escape the map to win, and additionally wreak havoc on the BLU Team as their reward. Proxies are seated in a waiting area. The game then chooses the players based on the number of queue points each player has at the start of each round, similar to Freak Fortress 2 and VS. Saxton Hale. It is recommended that the player, as soon as possible, collect files. If the player takes 1 file, 30 seconds are added, but for each additional file found, less time is added. Slender and other controls are programmed via bot. If the target runs away, the bot changes it's target. So, are you ready to do this? No, not me I need to go eat something.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #13 [Freak Fortress 2|RTD]

Have you ever thought “why can’t there be a new gamemode similar to VS Saxton Hale?” WELL, then YOU have come to the RIGHT PLACE!

As already stated, Freak Fortress 2 is a gamemode similar to VS Saxton Hale. But, instead of having normal bossses like those stated, it has bosses based on community fads such as the Vagineer, Painis Cupcake, DemoPan, Christian Brutal Sniper and many more! This gamemode is extremely fun as the different bosses has different abilities which brings a big variety of rounds! Now, let’s get started, shall we?

Panda-Community.com TF2 #17 [Jailbreak|gameME]

Do you think you want to go to a prison? Well, you can escape! Doesn’t make a difference? What if I said you can be the warden of the prison...?

Jailbreak is a fun gamemode designed for players that want to simulate how it is in prison (totally not) and have some fun along the way! You are allowed to join the Prisoners (RED) or the Guards (BLU). Requirement for being on the Guard team is to have a Mic though so that you can give out orders to every dirty prisoner! One player from the Guard team gets chosen to become the Warden, the Warden is the one responsible for giving out orders to players. If you want to rebel, feel free to as there is no rule that states you can’t! Be careful, though, the Guards might get ya! I am going to tell you some usual commands the Warden will give that you should most likely know in case it happens, the Wardens usually explain what they are pretty good though:

•Freeze in your cell; this means that you have to stand absolutely still, but you can use voice commands.

•AFK freeze; this means you have to drop everything you’re doing and stand ABSOLUTELY still, not touching ANYTHING on your keyboard OR mouse.

•Cellwars; a type of game where you have to kill your cellmates, the one who wins continues as usual.

•Walk to the yellow line; speaks for itself, there is commonly a yellow line in front of the cells where the Warden mostly wants you to line up at.

Rules for this gamemode:

This gamemode requires a lot of understanding, therefore there is even a thread explaining everything in detail: https://www.panda-community.com/threads/a-more-detailed-explanation-of-jailbreak.3389/

Panda-Community.com TF2 #18 [Mario Kart|gameME]

A deathmatch server with a Mario Kart -themed map
There is no right or wrong way to play the game here, so if you just want to hang out with people or shoot some bad guys, you can. You're welcome either way!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #20 [The Hidden|gameME]

Can you survive a permanently cloaked Spy? Well, I wish you good luck.

The Hidden is a gamemode for TF2 that has every player spawn on RED team and randomly pick a player to be on the BLU team. The person on the BLU team becomes The Hidden, automatically assigned as a Spy with a permanent cloak feature. The Hidden’s priority is to kill the opposite team while the RED’s priority is to obviously survive and hide.. if you can. They can also kill The Hidden, but only if they hit at the correct spot.

Demonstration:

Panda-Community.com TF2 #21 [Prophunt|gameME]

Now you can finally play Prophunt on TF2 instead of that scary GMod game (we still love you, gmod)!

Prophunt is a fun gamemode where the RED team can disguise as any prop in the map (unless it’s too big) and are allowed to hide anywhere that works. The BLU team are the hunters who try to find the correct props and their jobs are to kill them! I suggest you use your full capability of your brain!

Rules for this gamemode:

• No wasting time. Teaming with a friend is generally fine in a server like Prophunt, but don’t waste time.

• No continuously switching teams.

•If you spawn late but within the time the props have to hide, you may not move out of your spawn area.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #23 [MGE|gameME]

Ever wanted to 1v1 in Rocket Jumping? Here’s your chance!

The goal of MGE is to simulate a one on one deathmatch scenario. Two players are spawned in an arena, which is usually an important area of a competitive map (such as the spire on Badlands or the chokepoint on Granary). The first player to reach 20 points wins. Points are earned whenever a kill is confirmed, whether by fragging or suicide. In specialized arenas, players can choose custom made maps (such as Endif and Ammomod). In these types of matches, the first player to reach 5 kills wins. These maps are made to situate an extended encounter with an enemy. Endif was created for the purposes of practicing air shots, whereas Ammomod allowed players to spawn with infinite loaded ammo, and in some cases, increased amounts of HP for prolonged combat situations.

Entering an arena can be achieved by typing "!add" into the chat and making a selection with a pop-up menu. You may also exit an arena by choosing another map !add or typing !removerespectively. If no one is queued at an arena, the player will wait in the map selected until a second player joins. When a score of 20 is reached, the counter will reset back to 0-0 with the players to clash again. If a third person were to queue to the map, they are forced to wait until the round ends where the loser will sequentially change places with the person waiting.

Different arenas have different class restrictions, but the only classes allowed for general play are the Soldier, Demoman, Scout and Sniper. MGE features MikeJS’s ELO rating system. Players start with 1,600 points with a change of rating depending on whether they win or lose.

Panda-Community.com TF2 #25 [Trade|gameME]

It’s time to get an unusual! Wait, I need a scrap first.

Just your average trade server where you can battle it out with friends or other unknown beings, or just chill out and trade your items. OBVIOUSLY NO SCAMMING! Also, watch out for snipers on trade_minecraft, ew.

24/7 Public Games:

Panda-Community.com TF2 #16 [2Fort|gameME]

Ever felt like 2Fort is NEVER enough and you just want to play it over and over again? Fear no more! This server is JUST for YOU!

The 2Fort gamemode is no different from anything. Here you play on the usual map 2Fort with NO other map in the map rotation, just 2Fort and 2Fort over and over again. No special things are added to this, as it wants to focus on the original gaming style of TF2! Now, prepare yourself for a 24 hour game of 2Fort... if your parents allow you to of course!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #26 [Dustbowl|gameME]

Ever wanted to play 24/7 Dustbowl? Well here’s not your chance! Just kidding, here it is!

Time for some 24/7 Dustbowl! Nothing more to say about that rather than GOOD LUCK!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #27 [Orange|gameME]

Just your average Orange map, with 24/7 allowed! Let’s GO!

Another 24/7 gamemode where the map is made for YOU! Orange is a very fun map, simplistic and really designed for some epic gameplay. Now, good luck out there!

The Randomizer!

Panda-Community.com TF2 #24 [Randomizer|gameME]

The randomizer is just an additive server used for randomizing your choice of the panda servers, randomly putting you on one of the many servers that exist. Now that you know the basics of each one, you can go into this and start your journey through all the servers!

NOTE: It's good if you come up with suggestions to post here, or the full Admins can edit the post and add some information on some of the servers. I only took out full experience on some of the servers I wrote about which you may notice. Any help appreciated.

Alright, there you have it! All the servers in one thread with some basic explanation of how each one works. I hope this was helpful enough and I wish you a happy and AMAZING time on the TF2 Panda servers!

Thanks to: Electrod for coming up with the bright idea of posting this 1.5 years back!

  • No spawncamping.
  • No reverse spawncamping.
  • No staying in spawn with a group of people if that group of people exceeds a certain percentage of the team.
  • Use trade chat ( not using it annoys regulars ).
If this is seriously accepted, then atleast edit this in.

Add a notice to Class Warefare that it is very buggy and has some glitches that may make you have to restart the game and the classes being scrambled most of the time does not work. Thanks!

You mistook mario kart for TF2kart which is a totally different thing. The name of the server comes from the name of the map (mario_kart). It's basically just deathmatch in a mario-themed map.

EDIT:
Fixed it.

Ah, alright. I'll fix the Class Warfare thing. @Jarza, if you can, can you edit the Mario Kart?
