In the past, I've heard others complain that my application was long. Nothing has changed, if anything it's way longer. For this reason, I've put the longer answers in spoilers so that the information can be easier to digest. I'm happy to apply 3rd time around, and I wish the best of luck to everyone who will/has applied! Thank you for reading!

- Your name and/or nickname

Dominoose/Dom/Dominick

- Your age - Who gave you permission to apply? (applies to applicants under 15 or those who apply for servers not listed in the "Available positions" thread)

I do not require permission to apply.

- Your Steam32 ID (this is not simply a profile link. Look up what it is and how to get it; simply posting what you think it is makes you seem unprofessional)

STEAM_0:0:85065350

- Your general online times and your timezone

Weekdays: 2:15 – 7pm

Weekends: 9am – 4pm

Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)

(Please note that times are approximate and will vary.)

- Which of our servers do you usually play on and wish to apply for? Would you visit a broader range of servers in case of a report?

I wish to apply for the Dodgeball TX Server. If there is a demand for Admins on other servers, it wouldn’t be a problem to help out those as well.

- Do you have a microphone? (This is a minimum requirement for Jailbreak admins)

My computer does not have a microphone and I do not wish to use one.

- Your previous experience as Admin or Moderator

I have experience serving as a staff member on a Minecraft server known as Cyclone Network for around 8-9 months, which I have shown proof to Spankyworld and will be more than happy to show other Admins if needed. During my time there, I’ve had experience as to how to handle players with issues such as server-related bugs, help with the server, and rule-breaking. Furthermore, I’ve learned to work cooperatively with other staff members to help maintain the server, which is arguably an important skill for anything having to do with working on a team.

- Do you have experience with administrating with SourceMod?

No, but learning how to should be no problem.

- Why should we choose you to be part of our team?

A team is not to be comprised of one type of person. It should be comprised of multiple types of people, with different types of personalities, different standards, morals, etc. The benefit in having a team made up of different people is that everyone has a different perspective. Despite that I'm quiet and tend not to lure attention towards my direction, I'm hard-working and friendly as well. In terms of why you should choose me, well, I don’t expect you to, but I have a few reasons.

To start off, I’ve made multiple reports of rule-breakers which require effort and time. The decision to make reports when a lot of others don’t show that I possess some form of dedication to the community and willingness to make everyone’s experience more pleasant. While this is my third application, I’ve made two previous applications and went through being denied and marked invalid. I’d like to think that when someone applies multiple times, they will do anything to get the position. While online, I heavily utilize the CallAdmin feature to report more imminent rule-breakers so that an Admin has the chance to come on before I make a report on the forums. In addition, having experience staffing on other servers is not something everyone has and sets me apart from other applicants. Granted, it isn’t a necessity nor a deciding factor for an applicant, however it would make assimilating into the server less of a burden and much easier for myself. While I am not a person to get into trouble, I do not have any punishments on record except for an accidental gag from YourBiggestFan, and I strive to maintain a clean record.

- Finally, please briefly explain how you would do your job, e.g. a general overview of your policies and punishments.

Offenses relating to bans:

Stealing: A slay for each time someone steals, with 2 warnings being the equivalent of a ban for a 12-hour duration. Upon the ban expiring, if the player steals, the duration will increase to 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, then permanent. Nukes are exempt from this rule and players will not be punished should they steal one. Walling is also exempt if the players are not moving and they are in the track of a rocket without intentionally stepping into its path.

Hacking: While invisible, I will enter spectator mode and investigate the alleged hacker in question. If the player is in fact hacking I will record a demo of it for proof and ban permanently.

Body Blocking: I honestly am not sure with this one, I will probably need help from my mentor as I’ve rarely seen players punished for this rule.

Call Abuse: Again, I will probably need information on this rule as I’ve barely seen anyone get punished for it.

Offenses relating to mutes/gags:

I haven’t seen players punished in the form of mutes/gags as much as bans, so if I am incorrect please do feel free to tell me.

Spamming in chat/microphone: If a player is found spamming in their microphone or in chat they will be warned. If they continue, a gag/mute will be put for a duration of 12 hours. If they continue once the gag/mute expires, the duration will be extended for a day, 3 days, a week, and then perm.

Racism/Insulting: I’m not exactly sure if there’s a definite system for punishing players who put harsh text in chat, and my opinion of racism or insults may vary from other's. Based on experience, racism is offensive when it is directed towards someone or someone’s race/ethnicity with the intention of causing harm. Insulting a player would go as far as to hurt the player by joking with serious mental or physical issues, loved ones, status in life, or other areas.

Dominoose has did a great job in the past for keeping our servers clean. He has made a lot reports on the forums.

Nothing else for me to say. +1

Thank you Husky for tagging us and linking the goods.

I remember Dom's first app, and I was thinking to myself, who the hell is this guy?
Because he would hop on the TX server and kick my ass, but I hadn't seen him around before.
That damn yankee from the NY server!!

Besides pointing out that Dom is a really good DB player, he is also somewhat anal about reporting players.
So I can already imagine he would make for a great staff member based on his knowledge of rule breaking.

"Hacking: While invisible, I will enter spectator mode and investigate the alleged hacker in question. If the player is in fact hacking I will record a demo of it for proof and ban permanently."
---Make sure you record in first person, and the demo contains enough evidence to support the claim the player is hacking.
Trials cannot technically permaban. You must contact a full admin with your evidence / demo link to request a perma.
(Just make sure you ban them for at least 3 days.)

"Body Blocking: I honestly am not sure with this one, I will probably need help from my mentor as I’ve rarely seen players punished for this rule."
---Blocking is actually less commonly abused because it's a good way to get directed. It does still happen sometimes, and the usual bodyblock is at the end of the round when there is one guy left on a team.
When I see someone blocking intentionally I will slap them until they back off. If they keep blocking just slay em. If they get a player killed via blocking, slay them and revive if necessary. If they get a player killed via blocking at the end of the round, slay them next round so they have to sit out.
Most importantly, ensure in chat that the offensive player understands why they were punished.

"Call Abuse: Again, I will probably need information on this rule as I’ve barely seen anyone get punished for it."
---When it comes to call abuse, its honestly one of the rarest events you will need to handle.
If a player is spamming calls, that aren't legit, that warrants a ban. If you are on the server and a player makes a call that is legit, just handle it and play on. If a player makes a bogus call while you are on the server, ban em. Bans for call abuse are significantly less severe, starting at four hours.

"I haven’t seen players punished in the form of mutes/gags as much as bans, so if I am incorrect please do feel free to tell me."
---Lmfao, go look at the comms list.

Also comm blocks are also significantly less severe than ban times. They do stack, so if sm_listcomms reveals someone has three comms already, thats one day of gag / mute. First comm block is actually only one hour.

If you ever have any additional questions I'm always able to help out on Steam.

The only thing that concerns me about this user's app is the sensitivity to certain topics, avoiding specific details. . . There was a post that a user shared here on Panda that Dom asked for them to remove. Despite the fact it was just song lyrics, the user agreed to take it down, even though they did not need to. I don't judge or discriminate, but people are entitled to free speech, even in video games, and on the internet. You may find a user who says something you may not like or agree with. That is never an agreeable reason to censor, or ban them.

If you ever have any personal issues you take with another user, consider getting another admin's weight on the issue. Same goes for a particular user, if you consider them to be your friend, but don't want to ban them, it's reasonable to ask another admin to do the deed. You must strive to keep your personal feelings out of administrating. It's like the dark side of the force :b

All in, I will be giving my
+1, I think Dom would help out the server when other admins are offline. He is a frequent visitor, and is one of the only users to make calls in the morning, (for my location.) Most of the calls I personally handle are usually later in the evening.

If you are accepted, regardless of who your mentor is, feel free to pester me about commands, and overall administrating.
I have a text file for trials I am willing to share.
Good luck!

Hello.

I've seen a plethora of positive things come from Dominoose.

In Game
- Dominoose over all is a very friendly player and is fun to play with. I have yet to see him say anything crude or anything remotely and sincerely negative towards another player.
- And while he doesn't talk much when he is on, he is still fun to talk to and converse with. While he doesn't enforce the rules in game too harshly, I believe the reports still shows that he cares about the rules being in place and being part of the game.
- Another thing is that he is EXTREMELY active. His sessions show that he is on almost everyday and is on for around an hour to 5 hours as well as I see him playing frequently when other players are on commonly.

Regarding the Application
-Dom's application is very well made and very formal which shows he truly adamant to be admin other than the fact of the other applications. The things he says in the application is true. He does use the call admin feature quite commonly and isn't abusing it, he limits himself to one per person from what I've seen. Another thing is the admin experience, it is something not everyone has and is a good tool in everyday admin tasks and learning to be an admin for another community from what I would assume. And as I stated, he is extremely friendly to talk to and interact/play with as well as how he reports someone for people who do more vulgar things such as exploiting or using racist/ offensive language.

-He has a good grasp of the rules as well as a good sense of what punishment times should be given. And while the first and second punishment times on the chat /voice is a bit too much in my eyes, it still is close to accurate. He has a good sense on what to look for in game and is honest about the things he doesn't know which is ok! All admins are going to need help at first.

I 100% give Dominoose
+1! I would love to see him as admin! Good luck Dominoose!

The more active admins the better! For some reason I didn't come here to drop down my reply. I had it all in draft, but I must have left it here losing the potential of another possible great admin in this fine community. Here are a few things I can say on par with most of the members of the dodgeball community.

Cool Traits and Other Good Stuffs:
  • He's friendly and respected in the community.
  • He's amazingly active.
  • He's an active reporter.
  • Great player and sport.
  • He obviously knows the rules. I can't remember a time he stole.
Kind of reminds me of Cloud...

My Overall Perspective on Dominoose:
  • Good positive connections to the players and some of the admins in the community.
  • I can tell he's dedicated to Panda Community with his activity, his positive/honest replies in applications, and overall. A pretty cool banana.

This is pretty much the end of my reply. I have nothing to else to say that many others have stated about you. Although I must say this.

:vanilla2: ~ Good luck and I'll see you in the team soon most likely.

Edit: Also +1 if it weren't too obvious.
