You know that "joshing" people do, where, for example, someone calls someone a "fucking cuck" and It's all fun and games, no one is hurt? Yeah that's fun and all, messing with people in a playful way, but if you do that here, you get fucking gagged. No caps. NO CAPS. seriously why? freedom of speech. Jesus Christ. I do something (according to the rules) that is considered "disrespectful" and i get treated like Hitler and gagged. I say "aSSHole" in a video game and I get gagged. He stole my ammo pack XD. You think I meant that? I already know that some staff member is going to comment below, and, yeah, treat me like I am a shit person (i.e. cryptic). Well that may be true, if a veterinary intern is considered a bad person. It is a VIDEOGAME. Not a fucking workplace, or even a daycare. Before you say "there aren't THAT many rules", I'll have to stop you there. Example: Surf [RETRACTED]. good server. Not very many rules. You can spam for a WHILE before you get gagged or muted. The only rule I have ever seen is "no links in chat" and "No N word". It is a great server. No one is a jerk, except in a playful manner. I know I know, I can just play in a different server, but I just needed to settle this. I have such a bad past with this community. So go ahead. Post my chat log and take it all out of context below. Go ahead and be a predictable doof. You will prove my point I assure you. Call ME the bully. Its a Videogame! remember that. Its just a chat section.

Without rules our servers would be a shitstorm. Some servers needs more rules than others. To be honest, its more fun to play when there's no kids screaming with mic "fuck" all the time. Eventho its videogame, there's people, who dont like swearing, insulting and etc. You just dont act like a kid, it is that easy.

Rules are the foundation of countries. Think of America, we're great because we have a certain set of rules. Yes some rules do make no sense, but they're the rules.
Lets say Panda is a country with it's server states. Panda has basic rules, and servers have their own rules. This tactic is used to balance things out so you can have a good time.

Apart from agreeing with him, His post was well thought and well written, while the replies are hasty, missed the point and some are even pathetic.
The dude didn't say remove all the rules, like how you all treated it. And the topic isn't about leaving like how some of you treated it.
He posted some points about some problems with some rules. Like the rules don't care about the context, that the rules are a bit strict,that breaking the rules makes you treated like a criminal and that that doesn't suit a video game.

Now my opinion? I agree with mimic but not to the same degree he's going to. Some words should be banned even if it's a joke though. Finding a context will be a bit defficult, to search the chat log for the whole conversation and do a whole investigation about the reasons of the "insult". A solution? i am too lazy to think of one right now. Is the treatement of rule breaking players bad? yeah, it is. I won't get deep into the reasons of this cause that will trigger many people.

I get where you are coming with this, but strictness is exactly what we need on the servers. You've ever been on a server that has few to none admin activity? I did, and it's not the most pleasant environment. The moment you join you get rule breaks on every corner. This happens because people are not used to this kind of severity from admins. And it's not fair to those who actually try not to break the rules.

You are allowed to use caps. Just not to the point of overuse. Full cap sentences are used in a way to express "loudness" (or yelling), and it can get annoying. I personally don't like people who have the need to shout at me every second.

Think it simple why would you do things in a videogame that you wouldn't in real life ?

Most of the server rules are easy to follow like.
Don't insult or overuse caps/spam on our server and your fine ?
Is not hard to follow these rules. if you think the basic rules are alot don't ever touch JB.

You can go try and keep yelling the n-word on the streets of your town, let's see how long will people just watch and listen for you. So why would the same people want to listen to your bullshit online?

There has to be some clear lines about what is considered "provokation", insulting, and playful insults, and since the lines are so blurred between them, the admins has decided that none of them are allowed, which I entirely agree with.
