For us gamers there's an endless need to experience as many games as possible, so I created this thread to let you guys share opinions on what great games we could play, games that are lesser-known or games that we have maybe neglected in the past and now we're willing to give them a second go.

What game do you recommend?
Why do you think others will like it?
Rate your experience with the suggested game from 1-10 (no spoilers)

I'll start it off with this one game I just completed: Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

Why do I think others will like it? The reasons are endless: the artwork is simply stunning, the intro to the game is one of the most emotional and wonderful intros I've ever seen, the controls are easy to master, the sound effects are just amazing, the music is mesmerizing (even in the main menu, and I think games that have suitable music are the best kinds of games), the story is brilliantly written, some puzzles are hard but you'll be damn fucking happy when you complete them. The game is so beautiful I had chills 50% of the time throughout the entire gameplay, and 99% of those chills were caused by the music, and its timing and suitability to the situation.

Best of all, you don't need a mighty PC to run it.

My experience with this game: 11/10. This isn't a joke, I swear my life. Go play this game, it's worth the 10 euros. Trust me, you won't regret it.

TL;DR Get this game and fucking play it :scout1:

Damn, I was going to recommend Ori...
Well, looks like I'm gonna have to pick something else. Here are some of my favorite single player games:

The Walking dead (2012)
It's nothing new, but if you're into the post-apocalytpic genre (and zombies!) and like great stories, this episodic game is most definitively for you. You play as a man convicted for murder who tries to keep a girl safe and help her find her parents. Your choices have an impact on the story. Runs on a potato (tested on an intel HD graphics 4000 system).

Genre: Point & Click
8/10

Bioshock (2007)
Another must-have for PC. You play as Jack, one of the very few survivors of a plane crash who must venture deep into an underwater city of Rapture to find help. A mysterious character only known as "Atlas" offers you a ride back home, but the the city's owner, Andrew Ryan, has other plans... You must use plasmids, genetic modifications that give you abilities that some would consider unnatural, to fight your way through the failed utopia and get out of the city. (It's got a great plot twist, too!)

Genre: FPS
8/10

The Half-Life series (1998-2007)
You play as Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist. An experiment goes south and shit hits the fan, which spawns a whole series of critically acclaimed games (some people consider these the best PC games ever made). They're super cheap on Steam, especially on sale! The only downside is that damn cliffhanger in Episode Two... Valve pls fix.

Genre: FPS
10/10

I'll add more later, probably

Sacred 2 Fallen Angel (+ DLC Ice and Blood) 2008

An amazingly well made RPG game by the now dead company Ascaron Entertainments. In terms of story it's not really a whole lot of story involved but the simple you play the hero, you have to save the world. But it's not really about the Story but more about the gameplay.
So now to the gameplay, it's basicly the typical RPG lots of grinding lot's of quest but It's just so thrilling to have a huge variety of skills and armor, and it's a must have for everyone who loves old style RPGs.

BattleBlock Theater, Left 4 Dead 2 & Fallout 3/New Vegas.

Chess

Really good made game, you have to win the duel using the powers of your army. It's a game based on the medieval hierarchy, the King must be protected at any cost because if he gets killed the game is over. You won't believe how many emotions

Thank me later.

Most of the games I would recommend have already been recommended so I'll just put these ones:

Portal 2 (2011), I'm not really that interested in puzzle games, but I have to admit this was one of the best singleplayer games I've ever played. Loved the plot and it's characters, Wheatley being my personal favourite. Highly recommend it. 10/10

I also recommend buying Portal (2008), although personally I prefer Portal 2, but I believe it's worth a shot anyways. 9/10

Aye I've played Portal 2, it's really sweet. Didn't play the first one though, I may look into it after summer (cause I'm saving my money for something important at the end of summer).

I recommend Ultimate Chicken Horse. It's a fun build your way to the goal while placing down traps to stop others from reaching the goal.
I want some peeps to play with :/

Fallout 4, Furi, Borderlands 2, Bioshock: Infinite, Slime rancher, Bayonetta, Friday the 13th

Okay, here goes.

1. The "Souls" Games (Dark Souls 1, 2 & 3)

All three games are must-play. Very well thought out and expansive lore, tons of memes, excellent gameplay (very simple once you get the hang of it, but there are always exceptions and do's and dont's in different scenarios), amazing voice acting (IMO), pretty solid boss music (often relating to the lore of the boss), beautiful environments and fitting scenery along with amazing boss design. Has singleplayer and multiplayer integrated together. Can be played offline if you wish to.
There's a lot of playstyles to choose from. Perhaps you want to be a master of fire? Pyromancer for you then. Cast terribly OP magic? Sorcerer. Just old style medieval sword and shield? Just pick any of the melee classes. PRAISE OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, THE SUN?! FAITH FOR YOU, YOU FILTHY CASUAL!
The games never give you a proper tutorial. They don't "lead you by the hand". Observation, care, and exploration are required throughout. At most, you have tidbits of information (not always clear) from NPCs; the rest is upto what you do with said information and deduce from it, to the point that everything in the games' wikis is essentially all the community has thus far found out about it. Finding links between the games is a pretty good feeling too. Theories and everything. There are channels dedicated to exploring the lore. Recommend checking them out after you finish the games. It's really fun.
Recommend playing with a controller, makes life easier. Available on Xbox, PS, and PC (albeit DS1 on PC needs a few fixes as it is a somewhat bad port, you can find them easily)
The player is mostly uncertain about the plot at the start, and it unravels slowly as the player progresses through the game, provided they are trying to look for it.
I would rate all of these 100/10 cause they are just that damn good. Masterpieces.
On Sale: Right now till 5th July, DS2: SotFS (basically base game + all DLCs w/ PC optimization) is $11.99 on Steam. It's a great deal. DS3 (base game only) is $23.99, and DS3 Deluxe Edition (base game + Season Pass meaning all DLCs) is $42.49. DS1: Prepare to Die Edition (base game + DLCs) is still $20. Wait for another sale on this. I remember it went down to less than $10 once. I am definitely not being paid by FromSoftware to say all this.
TL;DR: Just try 'em out, try not to ragequit cause they CAN and WILL BE frustrating, see them through to the end. If you didn't like it by then, you can burn me at the stakes.

2. osu!
Online music-based rhythm game. Can be played offline, but won't save scores or give ranks. Aiming at and tapping/clicking circles in time to the beat. Not for everyone, but I personally love it. Can be very hard especially if new to it and playing with a potato mouse and keyboard even though it's perfectly possible to achieve greatness w/o those (speaking from personal experience here). Friends make it a lot more fun to play. There's this multi mode called tag co-op, people take turns to handle different parts of the song, clicking only when it's their turn. Doesn't sound particularly exciting, but it's super fun and less tiring.
Has anime songs (Insert songs, Openings, Endings; not all anime of course like there's hardly any good ones for Fairy Tail), a fair collection of EDM and Drumstep (especially Feint), the occasional English songs, memes too. Has a decent enough community, though it can be cancer at times like every other community.
Recommend playing ranked maps of good beatmappers especially. Don't play a badly made map, it's just gonna make you hate the game.
Lots of skins, you can find one to your tastes pretty easily. I personally use a minimalist one.
Can be very competitive. Dedication is definitely required. Make sure you set your settings right and figure out what works best for you. This WILL take time to get good at.
Completely free, download here: https://osu.ppy.sh/p/download
You may donate if you wish to. Unlocks a few features. Nothing you'd really miss without donating though.
I'd rate this game 10/10. Remember, it's not for everyone. But I personally believe it's the best rhythm game out there.

That's all I have for now. Might put in more later.

Trying to be serious atleast for once

I recommend the non-steam game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

This game is unique not only because of the gameplay, but particulary because of the story behind.

It's a big MMORPG game, and as in the movie, also in the game there are two sides, the Republic and the Empire.
While creating your character, you can choose 1 of the 8 classes, 4 are basicly focused on melee and the other 4 are focusing on long range mostly. After choosing your class you start your own classes story, which will make you travel using your spaceship to different planets, and the story adventure lasts til you complete the last mission, and once you've completed it, if you want, you may start a new story, which ends the world you knew and starts a new one.

You can find lots of trailers etc. on www.youtube.com

You can download the game from it's official website www.swtor.com

Got a few more lesser-known:

1) One Finger Death Punch

A really cool and simple 5 euro fast-paced fighting clicker/mouse-only game that needs a lot of focus and hand-eye coordination. Good for improving both. I have about 24 hours in this, and I liked every single bit. You can play story-mode and survival, both are equally fun.
Still to this day, I remember the moment I first started playing. The chills I got, the excitement I had and the sheer amazement of how simple, yet how fun and badass this game is made me keep coming back for more. It is a bit frustrating, but if you do it well, it's really rewarding.
There literally is no downside to this game, other than failing a level 50 times and then completing it and feeling like the happiest person ever.

9.5/10

2) Picross Touch

A free-to-play sudoku-like puzzle game that's good for your logical thinking. As you play and the puzzles get more difficult, you'll start seeing patterns here and there that will help you A TON to help the puzzle you are faced with. It's quite nice to play alongside some music you like. The longest I took to solve a puzzle was 45+ minutes. That's how hard they can get, but they can be really easy as well. It's still good to develop your logical thinking , awareness and concentration.
It's free-to-play, and straight-forward, so you have nothing to lose really.

9.5/10
