On the trade server, engineers tend to place dispensers at the entrances where you get teleported in. They usually build nests, but the enemies can't get rid of the nests easily. This is because people get stuck in the dispenser, giving the engineer a big advantage, leading to the enemy dying. The person stuck in the dispenser can't move, and if he tried to shoot, he'd die by the sentry. So can we please add a rule that this shouldn't be allowed or perhaps make it unable to build at the specific places? Thanks.

This is what I mean

Aaaah good times.

We use to have fights with regulars, donors and admins on who could rule the disco room! It was not possible without a team so we did teamwork to get in. Some even went on the enemy team to teleport spies in...Which thinking about it probably wasn't ok but hell it made things interested.

I also remember the time when someone tried to get in the disco room. They went on mic screaming it was against the rules and that an admin told him that. He didn't know I was admin, so I went to that admin to make sure if he did or not. He didn't say it soo...you guessed it I then revealed it isn't and that he was lying. He left as soon as he could get 'punished'.

Since it reminds me of old times I'm a little sad to see this rule being put up. But I will say it is unfair to someone on their own, it makes certain places not accessible unless you have a team mate or three to help you out.

Eh I dunno, I don't visit the place anymore so I'm thinking standards have changed and it's a little more serious competitive wise.

It's definitely frustrating, engineers nowadays know how to get there, so it's quite frequent to see a nest there. I can only get the nest if I got friends with me, but there are lots of other people that can't do that. It just doesn't seem right at all, giving the engineer a big advantage. The reason I like getting rid of nests there, is because it stops people from taking the portal to the roof so quickly. I don't know, it just doesn't feel fair pretty much.

Well the rule purposed is logical as it does give the engineer a handicap to his weakness.

I'll pop up a poll and we'll see where this goes. Hopefully some other trade players will let us know how they feel as well as it is a new change. Adapting to this new rule may take time as well.

Sure, just doubting that there are many trade players on the forums though.

Given that the poll succeeded, you could formulate a rule that covers all cases and somoene will add it for you. As for map changes, if at all, idk when.

I completely agree with this rule. I regularly argued with people on how fair it was. It created an advantage so strong even when I got 3 or 4 people helping me it was still based on luck on if you managed to glitch through the dispenser. It's a pain and I feel it's a necessary rule.

But that engi blocking is the most funny, challenging thing about trade :(

  • No dispenser blocking
You must not block teleportation areas with dispensers in an attempt to trap the enemy team. This applies to all teleportation areas.

I've done this in the style on the rules. Is this good enough? @EKIN @Da Random

Looks good to me.

Last time I proposed something like this everyone just went mad and disagreed heavily. The thing is, it's not that difficult to get past these dispensers either. You just need to crouch just as you enter the portal. I however don't see any reason to disagree with this suggestion. I'm fine with it if the server wants this rule to be added.

Edit: I didn't look at the dates, sorry!

Anyway, the rule looks fine. No objections from me.

A good question that @Sir. Cat just asked me was regarding RTD dispensers. Does the rule apply to them as well? IMO it should.

As a Pro dispenser blocker i say.... BOOOOOOOOH GET GUD :(

It's hard to take on engineers that know what they are doing, even if you got help from 3 people. Only good rolls or uber could make a (little) difference.

Why shouldn't it? It's a dispenser regardless.

Should the rule not include using sentries to block the entrances, all you would need is to engineers and then you could do an identical thing but using a sentry instead of dispencer.

Never thought about it really, but yeah I agree. Should be buildings in general. Anything that blocks the entrances.
