Hi,

since the MVM servers are quite dated and aswell due to valve basically tearing it down with their community server changes i was thinking about to close them down or maybe reduce it down to 1 or change it to something else like "Stop that Tank".

so i'm going to create a poll in here which closes in the next 3 days and after that decide on what to do with both servers.

either remove both and replace them with an different gamemode (which is voted by you guys)
keep one mvm server and replace the other with an different gamemode or something else.

please leave me aswell some feedback about what you guys think about it.

Are there any good MvM modifications out there?

Is MvmMachine attack maps a free thing? I remember I had so much fun on this kind of modified maps, but I can't discover if they are free maps or such some paid/private things

They are free to download on GameBanana. I don't know if the robots are custom-made, when it comes to their loadout and their waves. In this case, I would suggest to keep both of the servers, and add those "Machine Attacks" maps to the map list on the MvM servers.

For those who don't know what the Machine Attack maps are; it's a fan-made series of episodes, based on standard and custom objectives, like puzzle-solving, defence of a building and bosses. There are 16 episodes (excluding the part-episodes), and there are dialogues between the classes, which are shown on the player's screen. However, the map-maker's grammar isn't that good, and the English seems to be translated with Google Translator. Some of the parts of the episodes might have been horribly unbalanced and unfair, but there is not we can do about it, since it's fan-made.

Pros: creative, there can be 10 players, different from standard MvM
Cons: map crash, bad map optimization (episode 14 is the worst), horrible grammar

For Kevin: there are some episodes that might crash the server, I'm unsure if the robots need to be added manually.

The Robot waves are controlled by a population file, which comes with downloading the map as a separate folder. So there is no problem with the waves.

On another note, is that when custom upgrades start coming into play (the "Premium" ones) that's when it would be strongly recommended to make the script downloadable on the forums in case we edit the one that comes normally.

Lastly, some of these episodes takes a really long time to finish, like almost an hour if you're not careful. And if the map tries to change to the next map and fails, well there is not really much to do as stated. The only thing you really can do is rejoin on the "restarted" server, change map and then change back to the machine attacks map you were supposed to go to.

I would just like to say as well, that these maps are really fun and it would hopefully really benefit the community with this somewhat custom MvM mode. Keep in mind that we would obviously have to test it in case it doesn't work out. But that's easily arranged.
