Add weapons to the Surf server (1 Viewer)

I have been trying to play some on the Surf server but i just can't stand to watch myself and other people without weapons! It looks so weird and out of place. I understand that you shouldn't be able to do damage to other players but can't you just switch off damage instead of taking away the weapons completely? Just my suggestion, please tell me if there is some techincal reason why this wont work

(I dont play much on it anymore, the server is pretty much dead which is sad)

This would also fix the problem with Jailsurf (if that's what it's called) maps. Those who put you in a small arena when you fail.

I personally think this is a great idea due to some experience I've had with surf servers. It's a lot better with weapons, plus it's worth a shot to see if it improves the player base there.

Yeah, i mean if it doesn't work well you can just revert back. It wont hurt to try right?

Yes, i actually saw some guys on a jailsurf map who failed and were teleported to the "jail" and they didnt know how to kill themself so they ended up leaving. So i guess it would fix that problem.

Yeah thats obviusly a possibility but in other surfing servers with weapons enabled i havent seen people do that so i suppose it's not that normal.

My highest priority on a surf server is as follows:
1) Backstab anyone I encounter on the enemy team
2) Realign my surfing, if I cannot recover, suicide and attempt more backstabs.
3) Focus a single player for backstabbing
4) Complete the surf map
5) Teach someone how to surf (usually by sending them to the wiki to watch the video there )

Well, you could just slam into the one sniper that is camping a portion of the ramp and die.

Happens to me 5/7 times i try surfing.

I do agree that weapons should be added, or at least melee weapons to add some sort of combat in the jail areas. However, Sentries and such should be disabled IMO.

Yeah, sentries are a real problem on all surf servers, i dont know why more servers dont disable them XD

I know surf servers with all weapons enabled and I can tell you that on some maps snipers can be a huge pain in the ass since sometimes they just stand on a ramp and snipe the enemy spawn...

I think if you add weapons there should be some restrictions (only melee or put some weapons on the blacklist).
