Preferable ones that don't spam the crap out of you to buy their product and actually do top notch scans that actually detect. Thanks for suggestion in advanced ::):

Also no laugh :( I'm not a computer wiz!

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Premium, easy to get since the keys work even if they are already used), Windows Defender and Common Sense 2.0.

Atleast those are the ones I use ^^

Microsoft Security Essentials anyone, no?

"good" "free anti-virus software"

Pick one.
I bet you also dig Alienware products!

Unless you run a company network or do extensive amounts of browsing on russian porn sites, AVAST + MW Bytes + Noscript is all you could need. No one is going to start a personal attack against you if you have no information that seems profitable to them.

Avast Anit-Virus Softvare, Avast Internet Security. My choices, they're free to download but you can upgrade them for money if you so desire but for basic functions, the free is more than enough.

I use "Malware Bites Anti-Malware" and "Avast Anti-Virus", but you could even try "ESET", I had it on my School's PCs.
I don't download a lot, and I don't download from Unofficial Sites, so I think that you should use a different Anti-Virus if your Download Attitude is different than mine.

You don't have to download to get a virus ^^

You need to download something, no? Anyway, I referred to the fact that the less you download, the less is your opportunity to get infected.

Well, Kaspersky is for me the best antivirus ever.
Its team has been the first one to successfully exploit some vulnerabilities of the famous BT Ransomware that made the life of so many victims really easier.
Therefore, they have a competent team, if your focus is on security, it is probably the best one for you.
If you instead would like to focus on performance (CPU low usage and things like that) ESET is enough.

AVG and Malware Byte Anti-Malware are the worst around the most famous ones.

I'm sure that AVG is the worst anti-virus.. Said no one ever.
