So, here's the idea :

"!ff2boss" is a useful command which let you choose which boss you want to play. But since some bosses are definitely stronger than other, this command leads to bosses "stronger" than the others (like Nopegineer or Miku for example) being more picked than others.

Wouldn't it be better to remove it, or putting some kind of restrictions on it ?

On the last ff2server I played, there wasn't this command, and nobody complained about adding it, since it was more fun this way.
In my opinion, that would add more "diversity" in the bosses played (like Spyper or Koishi).

When I am talking about the "some kind of restrictions", I mean something like, for example, being able to only use the command every 5 times you have been Hale, or something like that.

Thank you for reading, and I'll be glad to read you opinion.

Step 1 : Type !ff2boss in chatbox

Step 2 : Realize that you might try not to choose your boss for once

Step 3 : End up with Goomba Soldier

Step 4 : Cry

Nah seriously, I don't think this command is really useful.

I remember going on a FF2 server one time and it was a donator feature. Pay2Win ;) As you could choose out the OP bosses!

I don't really see the harm in having the command there, I like the choice of what boss I get to be so I don't end up as Goomba Soilder, Human Sentry Buster and things like that. I like bosses that can jump and do the slow down time.

Usually not a lot of people know that it's there, so not everyone uses this feature. Plus what Forsaken said, sometimes it glitches and gives you something crappy so use at own risk!

Is this commonly complained on the FF2 server? I know a lot of people complain about the OP of some of the bosses.

I can understand your point, which is that everyone should be able to choose their bosses if they don't want to end with the, let's say the "less good ones". But now here is mine : Why are there bosses here in the first place ?

I mean, let's say you don't use the command and you end up with the Human Sentry Buster. This boss is not strictly bad, like the others non-played bosses, it's a boss you have to fight melee or else, you won't do any damages. But since this boss has a big flaw, why would I want to play him ? Why not playing Nopegineer ? You would have more chances to win if you played him. This results in the following : people will pick the good bosses (like the Zerstorer spam in the prison map), while the "meh" bosses will be, well..., not played.

Now, if people are complaining about the "OP bosses", it's because the people (aware of the command of course, but since all the regular people know it, and even some casuals, a lot of people know and use it) pick these bosses all the time. If people cannot just picked them, they're will be less of them, so less complains.

Anyway, thanks for the response :)

If we remove it all the kids would cry us a river because they can't pick Miku or MLG sniper. The ff2boss plugin is cancer and should be removed, people say some bosses are overpowered (people who say that should just stick a shovel up their arse and go play with lego as they should) when they in fact are not. It's just the fact that people pick them all the time so they seem overpowered. It's absolutely not fun to have to turn your volume off completely because they want to pick mlg sniper all the time.

I've tried to get Kevin to temporarily disable it, just to see what would happen. I doubt the server are going to lose players, and if it does it will probably be those 9 year old kids who we don't care about anyway.

How about removing all the "strong" aka. the overused ones from the plugin? When I play ff2 (very rarely) I love to pick the underused ones as Goomba Solidier or human sentrybuster, in fact goomba solidier became my favorite in the few rounds I played. So people who actually want the chance to play bosses like Nopegineer have to go random while you are still able to choose the boss if you want.

You either remove the plugin or you dont. Kevin have already stated that currently all bosses in the boss config file will show up in the ff2boss menu, if you dont want it to show up there you have to remove the boss completely.

Well actually what Kah said is what I am thinking. I am quite sure we are all tired of turning our volume off when we have 3-4 rounds of MLG sniper because people just keep selecting that boss once they saw that the previous player played it and won easily.

With that said, I think we should just remove that command.

One can always restrict some bosses as donator-only bosses. Now that i pretty much maintain the !ff2boss plugin

Now that i mentioned !ff2boss, i have updated it so certain bosses can be hidden from being shown in !ff2boss while still allowing them to be randomly picked.

Code:
"hidden" "1" // Don't show this boss in !ff2boss but still allow to be picked randomly

That's some great news, thanks for giving us an update, which would lead back to @Zeprus idea.

In my opinion, we could try to hide the "stronger" bosses (a list would ne great to make). This would prevent things like the unbearable MLG Sniper spam, and you would still be able to pick the "weaker" bosses, if you want to play them.
This would also lead to what I previously stated : less "good" bosses picked, so less complains.

So, in my opinion, I think we should give it a try.

Maybe only adding the op bosses in the list for donators and admins too?

No, it needs to be fair.
It gives a bit more reason to become donator, since donators dont have alot of commands they can use.

Be careful what you wish for (づ。◕‿‿◕。)

Looking at the results it's both even. If it was outerstanding then something would be done, but since it's not I wouldn't expect anything.

I dont know how many times Kevin has stated that he doesn't want to give donators unfair benefits. If you donate you simply just support the community, you don't donate to become some sort of a god. This isn't saigns or nighteam.
