I also roam around very early hours in the morning. Also I must state that I do tend to get busy within real life but this is usually around about 2-3 days per week. But I make sure I visit the server at least for 1 hour per day.
- Which of our servers do you usually play on and wish to apply for? Would you visit a broader range of servers in case of a report?
I usually play on Deathrun and I wish to apply for there. I have visited the other servers and I make sure to keep up to date on the rules for each other servers, this also includes jailbreak. I do also have experience in managing jailbreak and VSH from a previous clan, so it shouldn't be a problem for me to accept reports from various servers.
- Do you have a microphone? (This is a minimum requirement for Jailbreak admins)
Indeed I do. I only use it when I need to and I sometimes use it to engage the game community in a bit of humor.
- Your previous experience as Admin or Moderator
I was an admin on Blackout Gaming for about 3-4 months. The sorts of servers I managed where Orange, VSH, Slender, Surf and Jailbreak. I mainly managed jailbreak within that community and learned a lot about how it's important to make sure the playing experience is enjoyable for everyone.
I also have experience with creating minecraft and tf2 servers, but seeing as though it isn't about managing player within the servers I won't go into full detail unless you want me to.
- Do you have experience with administrating with SourceMod?
Indeed I do, mainly within the span of being within clans but I have also managed creating a TF2 server myself. Within just being Gameserver Admin, I took pride in binding a lot of commands with automated warnings that persisted within the servers. Mainly they where general to jailbreak, but this also included messages such as 'Do not spam voice and chat communications.' I was a teacher to few of the admins there and also took pride in dealing with an aggressive name changer(Kept banning his IP but he came back for more). But now systems can detect those sort of things, but I still have strong knowledge. I love csay and psay for more of a direct approach.
I also know a lot of jailbreak sm commands, but I am not familiar with any of the...fun commands should I call it? I know slap, but anything such as freeze or re-sizing I am not familiar with as I feel it isn't necessary to have when you're managing the community. Though that's my opinion
I'm sure there is some use for them. Like VSH with timebomb or something.
- Why should we choose you to be part of our team?
Well I've recently become active within the community, researched a lot with the depths of the panda forums and I feel that this is the place that I want to be associated with. I work very well in teams and have a strive to improve what I can within the community. So far I haven't really gotten to know the staff but so far I feel that within time I'll get to know some of you really well. I also feel that there is a need for some help on Deathrun as I have seen recent spam within voice communications mostly, but also some racism and recently pornographic sprays. Also there has been some delaying and excessive bhop to skip multiply traps.
I feel the most important thing is that everyone is treated fairly and equally, I don't like favoritism towards friends. If a friend spams, they receive the warnings like everyone else. Also most important it's about making sure the players enjoy their time within the servers. Admin powers should only be used for the players on the server and not for yourself to 'have some fun'.
- Finally, please briefly explain how you would do your job, e.g. a general overview of your policies and punishments.
Well I'm use to following a guideline of procedures and punishments, but if it was for me to decide then I'll list out my personal ways of dealing with certain situations. Keep in mind I am going off the new rule draft set of general rules and Deathrun rules. Also since it states briefly, I'll only do a few;
Mic Spam/Chat Spam(This includes the English rule);General chat warning, followed by one more warning but mentioning username within (Can use psay to direct to player) and then either gag/mute/silence for 30 mins. If problems persist after that then elevated communications bans.
Excessive Bhop to avoid traps; General chat warning, direct warning, slay (If the continue after the 2nd warning), kick warning and then a ban for an hour.
Delaying; Depends on if it's being done intentional. If they are afk it's just a slay after waiting for 30 seconds- 1 minute. If intentional, direct warning. If they refuse then it's a slay so we can move onto the next round. If they persist then it's a kick warning, then to a ban 1 hour.
Hacking; The most important thing before banning a hacker is to first record a demo. Then it's a permanent ban, no warnings issued. I will then proceed to upload the demo onto sourcebans so that if the player wishes to appeal then we have evidence.
